Learning control schemes isn't really that much of a thing these days compared to the PS1 and PS2 eras. Games started to converge on standard controls for third and first person games in the PS3 era, but before that it wasn't that uncommon for different games or series to have a completely bespoke control scheme. Like there's nothing out there that controls like the first three Metal Gear Solid games, for example
