A community for everything related to Palestine and the occupation currently underway by the occupying force known as Israel.

Anti-Zionism is not anti-Semitism. Existence is resistance for Palestinians.

Please refer to Israel as Occupied Palestine, or occupied territories. The IDF is a fascist and ethnonationalist occupying force. Israelis are settlers. We understand however that the imperial narrative (which tries to legitimise Israel) is internalised in the imperial core and slip-ups are naturally expected.

We always take the sides of Palestine and Palestinians and are unapologetic about it. Israel is an occupying power whose "defence force"'s (note the contradiction) sole purpose for existing is to push Palestinians out so they can resettle their rightful land. If you have anything positive to say about Israel we do not care.

I fear for my non binary partners life and job in the event of a trump presidency. Same with my queer friends

If it’s politically expedient, Biden will not hesitate at all to throw you and your buddies to the wolves and then the NYT will have a front page story about how certain LGBTQ+ rights weren’t that important anyways.

But it's not politically expedient though. And I don't see that really changing. Your asking me to weigh the hypothetical future where Biden and the Dems suddenly become super anti queer with the very real possibility of a trump dictatorship criminalizing and prosecuting my partner. Like I fully understand the Dems are old boomer som removed who only are pro queer rights because it gets them votes in the moment. But the alternative I fear is an actual genocide.

Especially as a person who isn't queer myself, I do not feel I have the right to sit by and pretend these fears are unfounded enough not to try and prevent a possible worst case scenario.

They’re already acquiescing, look at how fast Democrats went from saying Trump’s ICE/Border Patrol facilities were concentration camps to actually voting and supporting the absolute most right-wing immigration policy in recent history… and REPUBLICANS had to vote it down because Trump wants to use “illegal immigration” as a boogeyman in the 2024 election. And we already have Genocide Joe say he’s “stronger on immigration, actually” than Trump. You can’t rely on Democrats for any strong action.
