i took a break on my main project i've been working on cos of decision paralysis on the mechanics

i have now hit the same thing on my fun side project

how do i stop myself from starting a third project to procrastinate the first two, its too tempting to make yet another prototype lmao

rather than a third prototype, fork and start implementing the features you can't decide between so you can play with them?

tbh this is probably what I should be doing, but it feels overwhelming to double up on the work ๐Ÿ˜…

but i suppose there's no real other way forward, wish you could just know beforehand what works and what doesnt lmao

You don't have to implement the full feature. Try a prototype version that is intentionally smaller to see how "fun" the mechanic is. Then go fork of the other prototype mechanic and test it. Because both are prototypes that are deliberately small in scope, you won't feel bad tossing them when making the "real" implementation.
