No. That is not normal. It is, however, a common symptom of chronic drug abuse / drug withdrawal.
Loss of motor control can be a symptom of either but that is a really weird first conclusion to draw and one that most people abusing drugs or going through withdrawal are keenly aware of
It is not a "weird first conclusion to draw" when talking to a chronic drug abuser. And I say this as a fellow addict: I was not aware that neurological symptoms like that could persist post-withdrawal—even for years!
I'm posting from a place of concern and comradery, not judgment.
