Even if the argument was correct, i don't know how this person expects someone else to treat them as a comrade when they themselves show such a callous lack of empathy toward fellow workers. Especially when they pretend to care about the exploitation of workers, you'd think they would at least acknowledge that undocumented people are also - in fact even more! - exploited and vulnerable. There is always a way to make your point without using the kind of awful, dehumanizing language that they use here. If there was any indication that they at least made an effort to sympathize and put themselves in the shoes of the undocumented workers that they are scapegoating, then maybe a discussion could be had. Someone could patiently explain to them why their argument is wrong and misguided, and why solidarity is the better strategy even just from a pragmatic point of view. But as it stands i don't see how anyone is supposed to engage with this kind of post... When you make it clear that you value some human beings less than others merely because of their legal status or place of birth, then you don't get to call yourself a communist.

Reads like one of those things written by someone who isn't a communist, but is cosplaying as one to try to fuck things up.
Came here to say this. It's word for word fascist rhetoric. Just replace "us communists" with "us whites, us Christians, us Aryans, us Ubermenschen, etc".
Moreover this is the exact stance of fascist parties in Europe. "We are not racist. They should be deported so they can help their own country to stop being poor. The immigrants are willing to work for very low wages so it's their fault they are getting exploited and the rest of us suffer from the competition".
Yet these Nazbol Reich-wingers have no fucking problem whatsoever with the criminal crackers on Wall Street or in Brussels, that they vote for, use sanctions and "aid" programs to plunder the global south. They're just mad that people dare to flee to even try and build a better life.
Strasserism has been a thing for a while and it has its roots in settler labor unions of the US. The same prejudices that allow nazis to see lgbt+ and bipoc as inferior or inhuman allows white leftists to justify their racism by dressing it up as class warfare because only the workers they identify with are actual workers.
Look at the PatSoc crowd, it's got real adherents and they're not particularly sneaky about their Strasserist tendencies. We shouldn't pretend these are just sockpuppets trying to make communists look bad. Some certainly are, but this is a real current that has to be opposed because if it becomes popular (and it has been popular already, in the US and in Nazi Germany) then it's not that difficult to pivot to doing the same unspeakable shit but pretend it's for the good of workers.
And if history has shown us anything, it is that white workers will be enthusiastic.
I mean, I consider some of the current patsoc types to fall under "cosplaying as one to try to fuck things up" or "cosplaying as one to try to capture labor energy under a new brand of fascism, much like Nazi Germany, Fascist Italy, etc." It's not that I think they're all internet trolls; more so that this particular one doesn't read like someone who is sincerely trying to be a communist. Either way, the outcome is much the same, that we have to make it clear what is and isn't helpful and acceptable.
That said, I can tell you some of the tells of it that makes me think it's more "total bullshit" than "sincere but wrong", so that people can consider it for spotting nonsense in the future. 1) It is vacuously academic. It leans heavily into overly formal academic language, as some communists are prone to doing, but doesn't do meaningful analysis with it. 2) It ends with the unearned "comrades" as if it's talking to party members it has fought alongside in pitched battle. 3) It uses a lot of "and the rest of the fucking owl" reasoning, jumping around in a racist premise to get to its conclusion. 4) It's got a username like "Karlkropotkin". Same energy as "hello fellow kids" but "hello fellow communists, what a marxist day we're having. Have you read up on kropotkin lately? I have. In fact, I was just doing communist things over in my communally shared place of residence in order to advance the cause of the global proletariat against the bourgeoisie."

This is why I take issue with anyone who talks shit about Sakai's Settlers. The whole posture that "you gotta appeal to the white workers" or even within leftist orgs to tiptoe around the fact that the US is a settler, genocidal, imperialist state which exploits workers abroad and at home people of color most of all to give few concessions to the labor aristocracy leads to shit like this. White unions were advocating for (and getting) this exact shit more than a century ago, it's just missing the slurs.
In a Nazi country the Strasserites think they're the left.
I think there are criticisms of Sakai, but of course the point is that these Nazbol douchebags always overinflate their criticism, or use it as an excuse to dismiss him rather than learn from him, and their criticisms of him are rarely in good faith, or ignore the point or sentiment. Their complaint is that Sakai calls out their racism, even if Sakai was too fatalistic about it, and these reich-wingers either are nazis, or carry water for them.
I've read that Sakai denies the Nanking Massacre (one of the most horrific atrocities in all of human history) and he constantly downplays the evils, crimes and atrocities of fascist Japan, or blames the West for them more so than Fascist Japan.
Or that Sakai seemed to be wrong in some aspects, such as that white people can be impoverished, just rarely as impoverished as people of color.
Anyone who waves a confederate flag or justifies racism should get a boot up their ass.
That's why I said "talks shit", no work is above criticism but going "uhhhh he's not even Marxist he's just anti white" or a variation thereof is suspicious as fuck and expected whenever you say "read Settlers".
It's the "Marx loved dictatorships and murder" of white leftists, repeated far too often from people who really should see for themselves.
Sakai makes a nuanced critique of WW2 that correctly points out that the oppressed peoples of the world were conflicted in their loyalties because to them the colonial empires that had oppressed them for so long were being attacked by another nation dressing themselves in a pro-worker rhetoric (even if we know now it was a very thin facade). The British and the french accused them of atrocities but what good was their word when they said the same of the USSR, of every nation that cast off their colonizers? What good was their talk of atrocities while they were starving the Bengalis? How could they trust Belgians knowing what they did to the Congolese?Sakai's point is precisely how quick imperialists are to shift the blame to people for not having undying subordination to their brand of empire.
As to the denial of Nanking, I certainly don't recall it and it would have stuck out like a sore thumb when he dedicated some fifty pages to how the west coast was built by Chinese and Latino workers only for the settlers to demand their internment and expulsion(excluding, of course, any woman a white man wanted to claim as his wife and property). But if you have a source handy pointing me to it I'd like to read it.
Seven upvotes is too much for my liking…

Law is capitalist law, they're not illegal migrants, they're undocumented.
-
Your tax contribution isn't the same as your labor contribution. If you are a middle level manager at a 'bullshit' job, you are likely paying more in taxes than an undocumented migrant, but you don't contribute much to the society through your labor, in many cases the contribution is negative (if you are in finance or military)

There is no reason to believe if undocumented migrants were deported, the capitalists will decide to hire workers at the legal minimum wage, it is likely that such jobs will be replaced by downsizing , prison labor or machines, not by hiring documented workers at the minimum wage because that may not be profitable in money terms.

U.S. has a trillion Dollar military budget; remittances create demand for Dollars abroad. Also, why is it that labor is so cheap in their home countries that it makes working in the U.S. even at less than minimum wage so attractive. Migrants aren't coming because they love America, it's because they get paid more.

All the third world countries have vast underutilized labor. The unemployed in these countries face no competition from foreign undocumented workers. Unemployment isn't a first world problem, it is much worse in third world, it is THE problem.
I seriously hope our comrades corrected OP on that post. It's Reddit, so I expect this, but there are enough of us still on there to not let this kind of shit slide.
