This is so common. Reading comprehension is real bad

I swear this happens every time I deal with chuds online. They will completely misunderstand entire paragraphs and I have to respond with "re-read what I wrote because you're making up a thing and then getting mad at the thing you made up."

The other day I was trying to explain what abolishing the police and prisons would look like, pointing specifically to police departments and the FBI here in the US. Some chud comes in and goes off about how with no laws, everything will fall apart. I have to redirect him to the part where I mention neighborhood watch groups, sequestered communities for people who break the law focused on rehabilitation, etc.

Chud comes back with "Yeah but there's no cops or prisons so people can just do whatever?"

"No. We will have law enforcement, but different from the current institutions that exist who are little more than gangs themselves."

"So how are you abolishing police by making police?"

"....the institution we think of as "the police" will be abolished and something else will take their place, like a community militia, conflict mediators, mental health professionals, etc."

"But then who will be the police?"

"...the thing known as cops will cease to exist and laws will be enforced by other entities. We want this because police are currently corrupt. They all need to be fired and a new institution will be built from the ground-up focused on de-escalation and rehabilitation. We are going in circles."

"How would escalators and animal habitats do anything to stop crime?"

I stopped engaging around this point (and this post itself is rambling), but here this guy was posting his whole ass with his real name and everything. He wasn't doing a bit or sealioning. He was genuinely this incapable of following a conversation and comprehending information.

This feels like as evergreen a tweet as that Drill tweet about how there's zero difference between good things and bad things
