Mildly Interesting

This is for strictly mildly interesting material. If it's too interesting, it doesn't belong. If it's not interesting, it doesn't belong.

This is obviously an objective criteria, so the mods are always right. Or maybe mildly right? Ahh.. what do we know?

Just post some stuff and don't spam.

Is there a video game that uses this church as part of a map? I feel in my bones that I have been there in a game before.

Looks a lot like the ruined Temple of Time in Zelda BotW.

Yep, was thinking "I've been on the roof of that" and definitely BotW.

Could be Elden Ring, I had the same thought

First thought I had was that someone's already taken the Sacred Tear.

I'm sure there's a lot of games that uses this for inspiration. For example, it immediately reminded me of all the churches in Elden Ring. Temple of Time, in BOTW, someone mentioned Aeriths church in FF7. I think there's even similar ruined churches in Devil May Cry. Real world inspiration makes for some pretty cool set peices.

Looks a bit like a location in Day of Defeat source.

I felt that too, there's absolutely a map just like this in For Honor. Can't recall the name, but the center of it is an overgrown cathedral like this.

World of Warcraft, opening area of Northrend, Naga King quest.

Probably not the game you’re thinking; but my first thought was it looked like a place from Hollow Knight

[–] TritonForceX@lemm.ee 1 points 1 year ago

I was getting strong Gears of War vibes from that picture.

I’m thinking it may have been Fallout 76 that I’m thinking of, but I haven’t played since launch.

It looks beautiful. Both man made intricate details and natural greenery in one place.

I think the Sacred Tear is just at the end.

I wonder if that's where they got the inspiration for the conservatory in the abandoned Chateau Picard in the 20th century in the second season of Picard? It looks really similar.

This is beautiful. Where is it?

im not religious, but i think those buildings are worth being preserved and given a new use

[–] LazaroFilm@lemmy.film 4 points 1 year ago

You don’t have to be religious to recognize historical preservation and craftsmanship.

Camping on the Way of St James would be nice, if it's close to a way anyway.
