Image is of the Te Pati Maori (Maori Party) cofounders, Rawiri Waititi and Debbie Ngarewa-Packer. They have 6 of the 123 seats in the New Zealand parliament.

Officially confirming that the Republican primaries were a gigantic waste of time for everybody involved, Trump has massively beat everybody else in Iowa, and will very obviously be the Republican candidate for 2024. Given the abysmal state of the US economy (for everybody who isn't in the top 1-10%, which is mainly what national statistics reflect when they aren't telling blatant falsehoods), it's more plausible than ever that Trump may indeed once again become President - though I personally refuse to predict one way or another due to how volatile politics and geopolitics currently are. Project 2025 is coming, folks - either as the official Republican governance program, or as what the Democrats will do in 2026 after the midterms, stating that they have no other choice and have to reach across the aisle as they are the Adults In The Room™.

In other news...

Late last year, New Zealand voted in a new and very right-wing government, composed of the center-right National Party, the libertarian ACT Party (ACT stands for the "Association of Consumers and Taxpayers", good lord), and the fascist New Zealand First party. By what I can tell, this was the well-trodden path of "Vaguely center-left party does neoliberal austerity and causes a recession and workers fucking hated it and voted in a different party out of desperation," though the flooding and cyclones did add challenges to Chris Hipkins' short reign after Jacinda Ardern resigned.

It's worth noting that Hipkins was at least fairly China-friendly, meeting up with Xi Jinping on a five-day visit in the summer. They still do the whole "We have concerns about human rights" thing, but of all the countries of the imperial core, New Zealand is - or, perhaps, was - one of the most amicable. In 2021, China was New Zealand's single largest trading partner, with a third of exports going to China (more than Australia, the US, Japan, and South Korea combined), and they receive 22% of their imports from China too, more than any other single country.

Christopher Luxon, the new Prime Minister and sentient thumb, has said that he is exploring a closer relationship with AUKUS:

Luxon said New Zealand was interested in becoming involved in AUKUS Pillar 2: a commitment between the three partners to develop and share advanced military capabilities, including artificial intelligence, electronic warfare and hypersonics.

“We’ll work our way through that over the course of next year as we understand it more and think about what the opportunities may be for us,” Luxon said. “AUKUS is a very important element in ensuring we’ve got stability and peace in the region.”

This is not to say that Hipkins wanted nothing to do with AUKUS or Western organizations aimed generally against China - in fact, pre election, "he was open to conversations about joining Pillar II of AUKUS". But the current government is pushing down on the accelerator pedal.

The left-wing Maori party, Te Pati Maori, has stated that they want New Zealand to remain non-aligned, as joining AUKUS would erode the sovereignty of the country:

As Maori we cannot allow our sovereignty to be determined by others, whether they are in Canberra or Washington. Aotearoa should not act as Pacific spy base in the wars of imperial powers. Joining AUKUS will severely undermine our country’s sovereignty, constitution, and ability to remain nuclear free. There is too much at stake for our government to make a commitment of this magnitude without a democratic process.

In general, the party leaders of Te Pati Maori want New Zealand to be the "Switzerland of the Pacific", which is perhaps not the greatest analogy given all the problems Switzerland had and has, but we understand the intended meaning of desiring neutrality.

Israel-Palestine Conflict

If you have evidence of Israeli crimes and atrocities that you wish to preserve, there is a thread here in which to do so.

Sources on the fighting in Palestine against Israel. In general, CW for footage of battles, explosions, dead people, and so on:

Examples of racism/euro-centrism during the Russia-Ukraine conflict

Sources:

Defense Politics Asia's youtube channel and their map. Their youtube channel has substantially diminished in quality but the map is still useful. Moon of Alabama, which tends to have interesting analysis. Avoid the comment section.
Understanding War and the Saker: reactionary sources that have occasional insights on the war.
Alexander Mercouris, who does daily videos on the conflict. While he is a reactionary and surrounds himself with likeminded people, his daily update videos are relatively brainworm-free and good if you don't want to follow Russian telegram channels to get news. He also co-hosts The Duran, which is more explicitly conservative, racist, sexist, transphobic, anti-communist, etc when guests are invited on, but is just about tolerable when it's just the two of them if you want a little more analysis.

I just don't get this whole Texas thing.

What I don't understand is why Greg Abbott doesn't just rally whatever troops are loyal to him to march on Washington and then back down at the request of a third party and go into exile and then come back and take a flight on board a small aircraft. That just seems like what any rational person would do in his situation.

Thinking about how the people of Yemen and Ansarallah's soldiers have just outright kicked America and it's rabid dog in the dick, while in America the Democrats principled human rights defenders, have committed to voting in genocide joe to protect themselves from Trump. Like the Yemenis endured American genocide for a decade and decided that they were going to fight about it, while American democrats cannot and will not do anything to defend themselves.

A quote from Francis Boyle today (the US lawyer who represented Bosnia in their genocide case):

Francis Boyle states that with States (including US and UK govs) cutting off funding to UNRWA, it is "no longer the case of these States aiding and abetting Israeli Genocide against the Palestinians in violation of Genocide Convention article 3 (e) criminalizing 'complicity' in genocide. These States are now also  directly violating Genocide Convention article 2(c) by themselves: 'Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part...'"

According to CNN, 12 UNRWA employees out of 30,000 were accused by Israel of involvement in Oct 7 (and immediately fired).

international-community-1international-community-2 has cut off humanitarian aid to an entire ethnic group due to the alleged actions of TWELVE PEOPLE.

That's 0.04%, assuming Israel's accusations are all backed up by solid evidence.

Israel has already KILLED 13x that amount of UNRWA workers.

For those who are concerned about European war-drumming, it is mostly to prepare the people to accept austerity in the coming years. There are going to be a LOT of budget cuts across Europe this year, and this is just to justify why people have to get ready for more suffering, tighten their belts and degradation of standards of living. It’s because of the Russkies.

My local mainstream media are using a disgusting little trick to distort the story about the ICJ ruling. They go very lightly over how the court found that there was probable cause for a genocide conviction, don't really report on how the illegal zionist entity was ordered to stop doing genocide, stop tampering evidence etc. and go straight to reporting about the measures dealing with humanitarian aid.

They take a story about a genocidal regime being ordered to stop murdering people and they make it sound like a story about how some non-white people need charitable aid because of a natural disaster. It is so disgusting.

https://mashriqtv.pk/en/2024/01/22/china-urges-un-to-support-two-state-solution-and-palestines-full-membership/

China has called on the United Nations to implement the two-state solution and grant Palestine full membership in the world body, as a way to end the long-standing conflict with Israel and achieve peace and stability in the Middle East.
In a position paper released on Monday, China said that the current Palestinian-Israeli situation has caused heavy civilian casualties and a serious humanitarian disaster, and that the international community should work toward a comprehensive, just and lasting settlement of the Palestinian question at an early date.
China’s position paper came ahead of the UN Security Council’s quarterly discussion on the Situation in the Middle East, scheduled for January 15, in which Palestine plans to apply for full membership at the UN for the first time since 2011.

https://www.ctvnews.ca/politics/canada-suspends-cash-for-un-agency-serving-palestinians-amid-probe-into-hamas-attack-1.6744404

Canada is joining the United States in suspending funding for a UN agency that supports Palestinians, in response to allegations agency staff played a role in the Hamas attack on Israel last October

Ottawa has ordered a temporary pause on "any additional funding" for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East.

director for the agency known as UNWRA says it has terminated staff suspected of involvement in the Hamas attack, without sharing what role they may have played.

U.S. State Department says it believes 12 staff are facing accusations of involvement.

The UN agency says 153 of its staff have died during the Israel-Hamas war, and roughly 13,000 staff are still trying to deliver aid in the Gaza Strip

galaxy-brain 0 killed by Hamas, must be because they ARE Hamas

The war began Hamas militants killed around 1,200 people and took about 250 hostages on Oct. 7.

"War" "began"

In retaliation, Israel launched a military campaign in the Gaza Strip that the Hamas-run Health Ministry says has killed more than 26,000 people, including militants.

us-foreign-policy "militants"

Israel is tightly controlling entry points into Gaza and restricting supplies, making it difficult for humanitarian aid to get inside.

Last November, Foreign Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly praised the agency for providing the essentials of life in Gaza, noting it's "the only organization able to concretely do this" and that Canada is "a significant donor" to the agency.

At the time, Global Affairs Canada noted that Canada's funding for UNRWA work in Gaza is not just for humanitarian relief.

The money was also aimed at helping "identify, monitor and follow up on neutrality violations" within the organization and boosting "transparency and accountability of UNRWA's approach to humanitarian principles," the department said.

Jewish groups and past Canadian governments have taken UNRWA to task over social-media statements by the agency's staff that they argue don't uphold neutrality.

wojak-nooo mrw you are insufficiently neutral about genocide

They have also voiced concerns that UN aid could be diverted to Hamas, which Canada and others deem a terrorist organization.

"Concerns" "could"

Former prime minister Stephen Harper's Conservative government cut off Canadian funding for UNWRA in 2010, amid allegations it was too closely tied to Hamas.

Funding resumed under the federal Liberals in 2016.

Seyyed Khamenei has better materialist analysis than the "geopolitics analysts" and the Marxists.

Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei Speech on October 17th 2023:

When the officials of some countries spoke with Iranian officials, they defended the usurping Zionist regime, saying in protest, “Why have the Palestinians killed civilians?” First of all, this statement is not true. Those who are in the settlements are not civilians at all. They are all armed settlers.

...

What numerous intelligence reports show us is that current policy these days — that is, the Zionist regime’s policy during the past week — is being formulated by the US. They are the ones making the policies. What they [Zionists] are doing is based on US policy. The Americans should pay attention that they are responsible for this. They’re responsible.

Yeah, I had no idea how far gone my dad was on Palestine. I tried talking with him today and it was nuts;

It's in their DNA to fight each other.

They've been at war for thousands of years. It's an ingrained religious war that can never end until Israel has control of Palestine.

Israel could solve this in a day if they wanted to. It's their restraint that is keeping Palestinians alive.

British corporate media reports that Italy has joined in the repudiation of the rules-based international order. With this, the number of rogue states who have ceased funding of the UNRWA in retalation for the ICJ's verdict has now reached five, including the nuclear-armed hermit kingdom of Britain, as well as the settler states of Canada, America, and Australia.

I was going to post the archived article but for some reason it comes up as a white screen. What did I do wrong? Here's the naked link.

Edit: We hebben een serieus probleem. Republic-turned-monarchy Netherlands and former Nazi-aligned Finland have joined the rogue state coalition.

Edit 2: Germany now as well lmao. come on west, leave the UN already!

Lebanese writer and researcher Sayed Abbas Noureddine explains why 'Westerners have no remorse when killing others'

Western man views his government through the lens of economic well-being and comfort. That is, the extent to which his government provides (him/her with) services and privileges in terms of livelihood.

In short, the issue of livelihood and economic prosperity is a central issue for the Western man in terms of evaluating his government’s (legitimacy/performance). For instance, if Trump launches wars in which millions are killed, the Western man will remain largely silent before such a scene, as long as Trump (manages through such wars) to reduce the unemployment rate in (America) for instance. By merely bringing about some economic improvements, Trump secured a great percentage of votes or support (from Americans). In other words, he gained a widely popular base within American society. This scene also takes place in say Britain, France or Germany.

The red line for Westerners vis-à-vis their governments is (precisely) this issue of (economic) wellbeing and prosperity. Therefore, you can see that Western governments work on the economic dimension whenever they intend to carry out any sinister or ominous foreign actions or policies against any world nation.

The second element regarding the Western psyche was intensively worked upon for hundreds of years, especially during the last century, by (Western) societies, institutions, media, and various forces within their culture, and that is the ‘demonization of the Other’. Meaning that according to them, we cannot be imagined as ‘good’. As far as they’re concerned, we are ‘evil’ (beings) or devils that must be killed or exterminated, or preferably, that we ought not to exist on the face of this planet. This ‘demonization of the Other’ process was worked upon intensively.

Therefore, when a Westerner feels empathy for a whale stuck between icebergs, but very rarely empathizes, if at all, with the Palestinian people, who are slaughtered, killed and subjected to all this oppression – this is because the Westerner is unable to extract these demonized images from his mind and imagination, images which (Western) media, educational institutions and (various Western) literature worked intensively on for centuries. Due to this culture, the Western man is unable to accept or view us as normal human beings, or as real people, or at least as people who deserve to live or have dignity."

Hamas is making a very reasonable promise: If the ICJ orders a ceasefire they will accept it if the illegal zionist entity does as well. They also offer to release all zionist prisoners in exchange for the zionists releasing all of their hostages.

At the same time the zionists are refusing to follow any orders to moderate their genocide.

Clearly, it is KHamas who are the evil fanatical terrorists here.

After the vote, right-wing figures attacked the move. Nigel Farage weighed in, provocatively saying “We must sack all current members of the House of Lords.” It was unclear what constitutional mechanism he was referring to when claiming the lawmakers must be “sacked".

Nigel Farage = Robespierre?

Jordan said Sunday a drone attack that killed three US troops did not occur on its territory as Washington reported earlier, but at an army base in Syria near the border.

Government spokesman Muhannad Mubaidin said the "attack that targeted the American forces did not happen in Jordan... It targeted Al-Tanf base in Syria", where US forces are deployed as part of an international anti-jihadist coalition.

A spokesperson for Jordan’s government said that the attack took place in Syria, not on Jordanian soil.

Muhannad al-Mubaidin told Jordanian public broadcaster al-Mamlaka television that the attack had targeted the US al-Tanf base in Syria.

A Jordanian government spokesman told state TV that the militants targeted a different base, outside Jordanian territory.

So apparently the US is lying about the location of the base attacked.
