Rules (interactive)
Rule 1- All posts must begin with TIL. Linking to a source of info is optional, but highly recommended as it helps to spark discussion.
** Posts must be about an actual fact that you have learned, but it doesn't matter if you learned it today. See Rule 6 for all exceptions.**
Rule 2- Your post subject cannot be illegal or NSFW material.
Your post subject cannot be illegal or NSFW material. You will be warned first, banned second.
Rule 3- Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here.
Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here. Breaking this rule will not get you or your post removed, but it will put you at risk, and possibly in danger.
Rule 4- No self promotion or upvote-farming of any kind.
That's it.
Rule 5- No baiting or sealioning or promoting an agenda.
Posts and comments which, instead of being of an innocuous nature, are specifically intended (based on reports and in the opinion of our crack moderation team) to bait users into ideological wars on charged political topics will be removed and the authors warned - or banned - depending on severity.
Rule 6- Regarding non-TIL posts.
Provided it is about the community itself, you may post non-TIL posts using the [META] tag on your post title.
Rule 7- You can't harass or disturb other members.
If you vocally harass or discriminate against any individual member, you will be removed.
Likewise, if you are a member, sympathiser or a resemblant of a movement that is known to largely hate, mock, discriminate against, and/or want to take lives of a group of people, and you were provably vocal about your hate, then you will be banned on sight.

Please use nurple in a sentence.
She gave me a purple nurple.
🤣

Good morning, that's a nurple tnetennba.
You mean to tell me you've never slurpled a nurple?
I love burple nurples
I can finally finish my limerick!
A horse that was wearing a curple,
Found the sting of a wasp made him hirple,
Said the horse, "I don't mind"
"But I'm starting to find,"
"That the spot of the sting has turned purple!"
I regret that I have but one upvote to give.
I'll treasure it always :-)
Take my upvote
I’ve been at it so long that my head’s thick,
Unfortunately some of these words don't quite click.
I can *fin'ly fin-ish my *lim'rick
I've been at it so long *~~that~~ my head's thick
My lines rhyme with no hirple
But unlike links that are purple
*Sadly some of these words don't quite click.
Don't forget door hinge
...guess the song's over, then.
And a "chilver" is a female lamb
If you're interested in words, Something Rhymes with Purple is a podcast with Susie Dent and Gyles Brandreth.
Whenever Gyles is on Qi, about half the episode is him going off on an anecdote.
Edit: Fixed spelling
Whenever Giles is on Qi, about half the episode is him going off on an anecdote.
I think it's Brandreth? Not gonna lie, those are some of the best ones. You never know if what he's saying is 100% true because he was there or 100% out of his ass. Either way, you leave entertained.
I will go back and rewatch his episodes just to hear the fun Grandpa stories!
(Also, fixed the spelling, I got that all kindsa wrong)
I just googled him. lol. I had the last name right, but his first name is spelled with a 'y'.
What is light urple?

Is that not the gentleman named Urple? The humorous fellow with glasses, who likes cheese?

Nurple. As in
"C'mere twerp! I'm about to give you the worst purple nurple of yer life!"
Maple surple
Sorry, Alan.
Nope. But I think I might have had that on my pancakes yesterday
I like blurple: a mix of blue and purple.
Unfortunately, it's not a real word although it absolutely should be. There are car paint colors that I can only accurately describe as "blurple" lol.
"Real" words aren't a thing.
Dictionaries describe natural language, they don't define it.
Yes I knew it's not real. But I like to think it is. I would like a car with blurple racing stripes!

QI is a great show, but what happened to Stephen Frye? I see an old Dutch woman lately and wondering why they swapped him out?
He left at the end of the 13th season. Not entirely sure why: whether he was getting bored with it or wanted to move on, but I do recall he had some health problems around that time. Possibly a combination.
Sandi Toksvig, the current host, is Danish (she's not subtle about that at all. lol). She was a guest several times when Fry was hosting and took over after his departure. She's lived a, pardon the pun, quite interesting life, so she brings as much to the table as Stephen did.
I think she's doing a great job. It took about half of her first season for her to really hit her stride, but she's definitely in the right chair.
