Please do not post the "good friend" or similar copypasta

==========

Our galactic citizens have requested more specific rules, so here are a few.

The general idea is, if you're looking here for rules, you're probably someone who doesn't need to have them spelled out. You're fine. But anyway:

  1. This is a community for Star Wars memes. This means typically screenshots of Star Wars media with some text or context that's meant to be funny and/or thoughtful. All SW media is welcome: movies, games, comic books, fanart... Other kinds of content, like video links or meta memes (about this community, or Lemmy), are fine as well, just keep it on topic.

  2. We are all friends here, and love (sometimes love to hate) Star Wars. Be nice to each other.

  3. As fans of fictional media, we can be passionate. If you very strongly disagree with something or someone, take a deep breath before reacting. Anger leads to the dark side!

  4. Everything in Star Wars has happened a long time ago, in a galaxy far away, and it's a rich universe of millions of words and millions of years of history. So current Earthly matters really shouldn't concern us here. In other words, leave politics, philosophies and convictions behind the door. This applies even if it's about something related to Star Wars.

  5. Original content is preferred. Reposts are fine, just please limit to a maximum of 3 per day, per citizen. It is recommended, but not required, to mark original memes as (OC) and reposts as (repost).

  6. Local mods are the Jedi council. They may take actions that are necessary to maintain peace and stability of the Republic, even beyond the rules outlined here. Follow their guidance.

  7. Regular rules of the Lemmy.world instance apply.

I had this discussion with my girlfriend. Twice.

It bothers me more than I am ready to admit.

artist never had a cat.

I don't either. but I do love 'fixing it' for cat people to put it the 'right way' when I visit their homes. their cats love me.

Or just a roll that's uncomfortably close to the toilet, such as mounted on a sink right next to you, such that you have to pull it 90 degrees from the roll.

[–] Deceptichum@sh.itjust.works 5 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Or artist closes the door to the toilet.

[–] Maalus@lemmy.world 4 points 5 months ago

And then you have a siren going off on the other side of the door complaining you didn't let the Guardian in to guard you from Greebles when you are taking a dump.

Grogu is a cute little baby until you realize he basically committed multiple infanticides by eating multiple of the frog lady's eggs, and entirely got away with it with no repercussions.

The percentage of actual hatching was quite low... But yeah, pretty gruesome.

[–] marcos@lemmy.world 4 points 5 months ago

He's a little cute predator baby that will grow up to be a superpowerfull being capable of toppling or supporting regimes by himself.

What's not adorable about this?

(And yeah, the people that wrote the show knew they were writing this, and the people watching the show know it's that. It's not some revelation.)

[–] samus12345@lemmy.world 1 points 5 months ago

No repercussions because she had so many she didn't even notice.

[–] Hupf@feddit.de 11 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Wouldn't they use the three shells?

[–] Makeitstop@lemmy.world 5 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Those are in the future, not a long time ago.

[–] JasonDJ@lemmy.zip 3 points 5 months ago (1 children)

"the future".

I had to check. Good news is it's still the future. Bad news is it's only 8 years away.

[–] Makeitstop@lemmy.world 2 points 5 months ago

I had to double check before posting because I wasn’t sure either.

[–] Etterra@lemmy.world 11 points 5 months ago (1 children)

Unless you have a cat. Then the wrong way is tolerable.

[–] fuzz00713@lemmy.world 4 points 5 months ago

The "wrong way" is the "right way" unless you feel like re-rolling the whole roll. God forbid you leave the lid up and they feed it to the toilet.

[–] xenspidey@lemmy.zip 8 points 5 months ago

Bottom was orinigal, top is version 2.0. Yes I have cats and kids, but it just rips better from underneath.

[–] halvar@lemm.ee 8 points 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago)

This is generally true, HOWEVER I still think the closed holders where the roll is supported from below (instead of a rod going through the middle) should be used "incorrectly" since it stops the roll from gaining momentum and unrolling when you aren't careful enough.

Those don't seem to be very common though, probably an Eastern Bloc thing. Anyway, I'm talking about one of these bad boys:

[–] kaotic@lemmy.world 6 points 5 months ago

Unless you have cats.

[–] MehBlah@lemmy.world 6 points 5 months ago

Can you imagine caring about something so insignificant, so much? The dispensers at work don't work if you use the green check way. Thats right someone disagreed so much that they created dispenser that can't be loaded up that way and work correctly. Honestly that is just as hard to imagine.

[–] RightHandOfIkaros@lemmy.world 5 points 5 months ago

Unless you have cats that unravel it often.

[–] Sam_Bass@lemmy.world 3 points 5 months ago

Doesnt matter to a cat

[–] III@lemmy.world 3 points 5 months ago (2 children)

Funny how every time this is brought up, the initiator is always for the "over" placement. Rarely are the "under" people randomly bringing it up. Just an observation, I am sure it doesn't mean anything.

[–] FinishingDutch@lemmy.world 2 points 5 months ago (1 children)

The Unders are well aware of how their shameful practices are perceived by polite society. They dare not speak their heresy.

But we will teach them until they learn to repent their sinful ways.

[–] GreyEyedGhost@lemmy.ca 1 points 5 months ago

-Fundamentalists talking about sex, drugs, or dancing.

[–] Bobmighty@lemmy.world 2 points 5 months ago

I do both by slapping on the new roll without really paying attention. I also have a cat. It's never been a problem.

[–] OttoVonNoob@lemmy.ca 0 points 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago)

As a tall dude with long arms, that extra 6cm is invaluable.. This is a to each thier own moment.

[–] Anticorp@lemmy.world 0 points 5 months ago

I do not understand people's obsession over this. It doesn't matter at all, unless you have a wild kitty.

[–] SandLight@lemmy.world -1 points 5 months ago

I'm happy with it either way. I'm not sure why people have strong feelings about it.
