I understand that Hexbear has young and vulnerable people, making it potentially unsafe for something as personal and private as sexuality, but I was wondering if there are many online spaces that are friendly and nonjudgmental for that.

There are topics I'd like to discuss like classism in hookup culture/kink communities, but I don't want to make people uncomfortable. I also can't account for wreckers and just general topic derailment.

Also in general, are there considerations I should take when broaching these topics in online spaces?

I feel like we're doing a good job of protecting people from sex pests and I don't want to make a safe place unsafe.

Sometimes I'm like "maybe it would be cool if the ~~fedposting honeypot~~ bear website had a horny discussion board" and other times I'm like OH HELL FUCKING NO

[-] Magician@hexbear.net 21 points 3 months ago

Yeah that's terrifying.

BDSM/kink communities tend to be willing to talk about this kind of thing.

I feel like there is an unwritten rule every discord has to have a porn zone. I that'd probably be the place to start. Failing that I think you woudl have to got to sex positive spaces and work backwards. Most quink spaces are probably half way there. True most lifestyle spaces are full of liberals. I would just expect you to have better luck finding a fetlife group than a lemme instance.

porn zone

I think OP is looking for a place to have honest discussions about sex, not an explicitly horny space where people post porn. those are two entirely different things

Yeah. Like I think it's weird to consider the power dynamic at play when only wealthy people can safely host, especially if you're queer.

Or the way racist sexual stereotypes dehumanizes people of color.

only wealthy people can safely host, especially if you're queer.

You mean only people who have their own place can safely invite people over to hook up?

[-] Magician@hexbear.net 10 points 3 months ago

Yeah, but in metropolitan areas it's straight-up dystopian

We enter the Porn Zone when a RedTube Premium subscription becomes greater than 60% of a gooner's budget

What kind of discord are you in?

[-] StalinStan@hexbear.net 3 points 3 months ago

I feel like lots of discords I have been in just have that mullet experience where there is just a party going on in the back someplace. Is it just me?
