rat-salute-2 Rare good youtube video from small channels that isn't overly long and also is informative/provides sources are my crack; I love sharing them whenever Youtube deigns to actually serve them as a recommendation instead of the usual the developers knew you'd do this! auto-generated content mill slop

The thumb seems to be the final maps with all craters. I know probability is weird but I'm still sort of surprised that north and and slightly north-west of Australia there are none until North Korea-ish. Yet Australia has so many.

Plate tectonics/erosion and the fact that a large chunk of it is virtually unexplored ocean contributes to a lot of that from the very little I've learnt about earth impacts. That whole area is basically a strewnfield though.

That whole area is basically a strewnfield though.

Damn. And there's this.

Homo erectus

Archeological artifacts found with these tektites in Baise, Guangxi in southern China indicate that a Homo erectus population was living in the area during and after the impact. Stone tools have been found within the debris field along with a charcoal layer likely caused by fires from the impact. It has been suggested that the subsequent local deforestation after the fires allowed this population easier access to stones useful for tool-making.

Breadtube if it didn't suck.

Post videos you genuinely enjoy and want to share, duh. Celebrate the diversity of interests shared by chapochatters by posting a deep dive into Venetian kelp farming, I dunno. Also media criticism, bite-sized versions of left-wing theory, all the stuff you expected. But I am curious about that kelp farming thing now that you mentioned it.

Low effort / spam videos might be removed, especially weeb content.

There is a cytube that you can paste videos into and watch with whoever happens to be around. It's open submission unless there's something important to commandeer it with at the time.

A weekly watch party happens every Saturday (Sunday down under), with video nominations Saturday-Monday, voting Monday-Thursday. See the pin for whatever stage it's currently in.
