It also propels itself forward by discharging high velocity watermarks.

I liked the meme, but your comment got an actual chuckle from me. Thanks for the laugh, friend

For those interested in this species, this is actually called a "Long-tailed tit". This particular one is of the caudatus subspecies, recognizable by its pure white head, like this

I like tits of any colour

Do you use Shopify for image hosting?

[-] smeg@feddit.uk 5 points 3 months ago

Nope, that was just the first appropriate image search result

[-] thenewred@lemmy.world 35 points 3 months ago

Me writing my resume in third person

[-] AntiOutsideAktion@hexbear.net 31 points 3 months ago

What an asshole putting that obnoxious watermark on a picture he didn't take

[-] AernaLingus@hexbear.net 15 points 3 months ago

Here's an insta of an actual Japanese wildlife photographer chock-full of great photos of this bird (among others)

[-] yuli@hexbear.net 13 points 3 months ago

tiktok automatically watermarks it when u save a pic from a slideshow

[-] DragonTypeWyvern@midwest.social 21 points 3 months ago

Oh, so they're the assholes.

[-] MeThisGuy@feddit.nl 6 points 3 months ago

Indeed, it's a really wonderful photo otherwise

[-] Agent641@lemmy.world 22 points 3 months ago

The photographer who took this photo barely escaped with his life.

[-] cordlesslamp@lemmy.today 8 points 3 months ago

I heard that the bird actually tracked him down and murder him shortly after. They found the camera's SD card is the only thing still intact at the scene.

Reminds me of the indie game, Skate Bird.

If there is one thing I've learned from Physics, is that everything is relative.

Killer borb

[-] pdxfed@lemmy.world 10 points 3 months ago

That's a snowball.

[-] AVincentInSpace@pawb.social 9 points 3 months ago

Did you mean pounds per square inch? The foot-pound is a unit of torque. That number would make more sense for the force generated by its wings.

[-] eldain@feddit.nl 10 points 3 months ago

It's a japanese bird, that should be Pascal.

[-] veganpizza69@lemmy.world 6 points 3 months ago

Unless you mean the specific individual in the photo, it's not Japanese.

[-] eldain@feddit.nl 5 points 3 months ago

No non-metric area in that picture, the core of my joke still stands :P

[-] A_A@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago

think of the bird's claw as a small torque wrench ... similarly, when we unscrew the cap of a jar, we notice that our hands have a limited torque capacity.

[-] ICastFist@programming.dev 8 points 3 months ago

Pictured above, a bird whose wings double as ears

[-] Cordyceps@sopuli.xyz 1 points 3 months ago

Hard to unsee

[-] kamenlady@lemmy.world 7 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

Sweet, a Long-tailed Tit.

[-] werefreeatlast@lemmy.world 7 points 3 months ago

Has anyone measured the impedance of that bird? It could be in the trillions of ohms! Terrifying if you think about it!

[-] Xavienth@lemmygrad.ml 6 points 3 months ago

I know it's a joke but it bugs me because foot-pound is energy not pressure

[-] oo1@lemmings.world 1 points 3 months ago
[-] henfredemars@infosec.pub 4 points 3 months ago

Pssssh. The bag is wet, move in! Pssssh!

[-] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago

We all know that this bird is a murder hobo.

Which… really just makes it cuter.
