While this new method seems to be an overall net positive, I feel it’s important to note that the process of removing lignin from the bamboo is not an eco-friendly process, even when they claim to use eco-friendly chemicals to do so.

I guess the big advantage would be that at least the pollution would be localized if we don't have to deal with stuff like microplastics as a result.
