I recently had a dream wherein I was at a furry convention despite not actually being a furry, and I was feeling kind of out of my element — I wasn't in a fursuit or anything like that, I didn't know anything about the culture or the recent drama or anything, and it had been ages since I last went to any sort of convention, since cons tend to overstimulate me.

So anyways, there I was sitting on a steel chair in the audience of some panel, the panel guests hadn't arrived yet and there were a few other congoers in the seats adjacent to mine. And the congoer in the seat in front of mine said something about a "language of Bolivia", and I just automatically chimed in and said, "You mean like Guaraní?", and everyone in the room laughed for some reason, and said that they really liked me or thought I was super charming or something. It was almost like they sensed that I felt out of my element and they were going out of their way to make me feel welcome and "like a part of the community" or whatever.

Then the congoer in the seat to my right kissed me on the cheek, and at first I was so shocked by this that I couldn't quite register what had just happened. When I finally processed what had just happened, I just said, "...Oh!", and despite feeling kind of flustered, I said that I didn't mind. "I guess this is just what furry culture is like, I should respect it.", I thought to myself. And so the other congoers in the room also started kissing me on the cheeks. Like everyone was just swarming around me to give me a smooch.

Now I'm willing to bet that the part where I started getting drowned in kisses from furries was inspired by listening to Tarkan's "Şımarık" a lot in the preceding days, I also have theories about the other parts of the dream but I'm less certain about those.
