needs text; too oblivious to know minor differences in mouse shapes

[–] trifictional@lemmy.world 10 points 2 years ago

I had to exit the app to confirm which one was wefwef.

Soon there will be boost for lemmy!

[–] vis4valentine@lemmy.ml 12 points 2 years ago

Im waiting for it.

[–] UberFox@feddit.nl 2 points 2 years ago

Anyone who hasn't already pre registred can do it here

[–] mizu6079@vlemmy.net 27 points 2 years ago (7 children)

I think Jerboa goes in the A tier. Liftoff would be easy S tier if only it had an easier way to view comment context (like Jerboa).

[–] CausticFlames@sopuli.xyz 10 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Too bad too, because I would agree if Jerboa didn't have so many bugs.

[–] dandroid@dandroid.app 5 points 2 years ago (3 children)

The latest version (0.0.38) fixed the bugs for me. The previous one (0.0.37) was nearly unusable.

As a jerboa user myself, I'm pretty confident Jerboa is C or D tier at best. It has a very buggy UI, crashes very frequently and is a nightmare to post comments. I'll hold my beliefs until the devs fix those issues

[–] Marduk73@lemmy.world 5 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

I only tried the two inside fdroid, jerboa and that other one. On now and it seems fine but i don't have much to compare it to. Seeing as how this lemmy stuff is new to me and i only tried the two.

Edit: ACd Hernia, changed back to jerboa. Lol hernia

[–] rozno@roznotech.xyz 3 points 2 years ago (2 children)

What issue are you having with comment context in Liftoff? Seems to work for me; I get it through Obtanium though so maybe it's an older version issue for you

Liftoff added that, although the UI is a bit clunky

You should write a big "MY" at the beginning of the title.

[–] nonearther@lemmy.ml 14 points 2 years ago (7 children)

It's weird that Thunder, most polished Lemmy app, is not even on the list

[–] drudoo@lemmy.world 4 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I agree. Since joining the beta, I’ve exclusively used Thunder. I never encounter errors or load issues and comments are posted without issues.

Every other app seems to have problems. Started with Memmy and wefwef but I couldn’t handle all the loading errors.

[–] subterfuge@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

Memmy has been improving very quickly.

You missed Thunder

[–] DundasStation@lemmy.ca 11 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) (2 children)

Since no one is posting it, here are the names of each of these apps:

[–] aDogCalledSpot@lemmy.zip 4 points 2 years ago (1 children)

The second C tier is Lemmynade but thats just the old name for Liftoff so Im not sure why its its own thing here

[–] DundasStation@lemmy.ca 4 points 2 years ago

Thanks! I've made the correction. No idea how to ping you like on Reddit.

I'm using Jerboa and eagerly awaiting Sync for Lemmy. Haven't had the motivation to try anything else yet.

[–] HerrVorragend@lemmy.world 8 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I would put Jerboa above LiftOff and Connect, because I like the UI more

[–] Cris_Color@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago

Agreed, feels better executed to me personally

[–] Rufio@lemm.ee 7 points 2 years ago (2 children)

Where is Memmy? I’d put that A tier probably. Good but not as good as wefwef.

Jerboa is A or S tier for me. Sure it used to crash alot, but now it's silky smooth, doesn't crash anymore and everything just works.

[–] driving_crooner 6 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago)

For me Jerboa is S tier just because os available on the F-Droid store (and its works)

[–] victron@lemmy.world 6 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I have tried many of them in the last 2 weeks: thunder, jerboa, connect, liftoff but now I'm loving wefwef. Still waiting for sync, tho.

[–] LeylaaLovee@lemmy.fmhy.ml 6 points 2 years ago

I will jump ship from Liftoff the second Sync is back

[–] Marxine@lemmy.ml 6 points 2 years ago

Missed Thunder, Jerboa deserves better.

[–] AlexLight@lemmy.fmhy.ml 5 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) (1 children)

Started with Jerboa, tried Connect but that didn't feel right for me. Now I'm back to Jerboa (sometimes using Liftoff but mostly Jerboa), waiting till Boost is released

[–] Vormital@lemmy.world 7 points 2 years ago (2 children)

I've tried Jerboa. It feel basic but seems to be the inky one that actually shows decent search results when searching for communities. But it have a simple UI which is nice to me.

Wefwef. I hated it, but I am an android user who use to use RiF, this is nothing like it and it put me off. I can only fit like 2 post on the screen when scrolling. Way too much wated space

Liftoff. Don't like the UI, feels like everything is a little too big. There is too much wasted space again.

Connect for Lemmy. This is my go to and daily driver now. Its so quite similar to RiF if you tweek some of the settings. Can fit way more posts onto my screen at once. Has more customisation/functionality then Jerboa.

Thunder is the best. I try the other 8 apps I have but keep going back to thunder. It's so much better.

[–] tvmole@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 2 years ago

Try Jerboa again if you had trouble. The last couple updates were huge leaps forward

[–] kenbw2@lemmy.world 4 points 2 years ago

I'm loving wefwef but have two gripes

  • It seems to get laggy with prolonged use (Firefox on android)
  • The way pressing Posts/Inbox/Account/Search operate like tabs where you have to back back back to the main screen
[–] Silviecat44@vlemmy.net 4 points 2 years ago

Where is mlem on this list

[–] areyouevenreal@lemmy.fmhy.ml 4 points 2 years ago (1 children)

What are the two in S tier?

[–] DRx@lemmy.world 6 points 2 years ago

Wefwef (rainbow) and Memmy (black)

[–] Rakn@discuss.tchncs.de 4 points 2 years ago

Not sure what those apps are. S Tier both kinda look like Memmy? (It’s the only one I know).

[–] arcrust@lemmy.fmhy.ml 4 points 2 years ago

I guess I should try wefwef. Connect has been working nearly perfectly for me for the last week or so and the dev keeps adding new features. I think I might be loyal already.

[–] Sdot@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Hard agree. This is what I concluded from my research also.

I like the rat.

[–] giddy@aussie.zone 2 points 2 years ago

Connect on my ancient Galaxy Tab S2 refuses to connect to aussie.zone. It complains about the cert

[–] aloeha@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

Add Memmy to S tier

[–] HatchetHaro@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 2 years ago

Lemmotif is SS tier and I will fight anyone on this.
