Sometimes it astonishes me how much knowledge people have about this ecosystem. I'll see people on here be like, "Man I hate jackjames geeboy so much I lose sleep", like how do you even have time to track all this drama?

I think it's when people use actual youtube (no invidious, NewPipe etc), logged in youtube, and have a habit of browsing the recommendations.

So, just no political commentary or once the person delivering the commentary gets to a certain threshold of popularity they're cycled out?

I despise rich obnoxious "influencers" in general and it comes as no surprise how many of them wind up creeping on kids coming to their house parties, and even when they're not kiddie creeping, they're sending their fandoms at each other to fight petty proxy battles in their names or otherwise turning themselves into self-pandering exploiting-others brands for money and I don't want to contribute to that.

The very concept seems to be synonymous enough with narcissism that I generally reject it in advance because it's just tiring. If I wanted to soak in those kinds of narcissistic slapfights I'd call some biological family members on the opposite coast on several borrowed phones and leave them all on speaker mode as they tore into each other while demanding to know why I moved so far away (no answer would be acceptable so I never gave them one).

If I watch people on Youtube, it's for reviews of obscure games or maybe the guilty pleasure of James Stephanie Sterling takes on corporate skullduggery, and even that's at my limit.

Is that because you don't want others cutting into your own sphere of influence, Ryan Gosling?? You can't fool me, you're only complaining because you want us to only consume traditional celebrity commentary.
