Northeast USA. And next week it’s supposed to go up to 75. Good thing climate change is a hoax though, cause then I might be worried!

Don't worry, it'll get cold once or twice before December and they'll declare climate change is over.

Actually infuriating when that happens and those annoying “we could use global warming teehee” jokes

And maybe if we’re lucky it will snow! And a Congress person will bring in a snowball to debunk climate change

I thought this shit was supposed to happen over the course of a century, not that winter would simply cease to exist within the past 10 years

I grew up in subzero temperatures and I'm tempted to turn on my air conditioning rn

It may be one of the coldest autumns for the rest of our lives. so-far

I've had my windows open overnight for slightly cool fresh air here in southern Ontario for weeks. That would have been insane to my parents in the 1980s who were installing fresh weatherstripping and putting plastic on windows by the end of september.

We've been having wild swings where it's like 30F one day and 90F the next day. Over and over. It sucks because you can't put away the box fan, pack the heavy jackets, or whatever because you're gonna need it all on different days of the week.

Had to turn on my ac the other night just because it was too hot in my room and I couldn’t sleep. Was really hoping the ac days were over

my electric bill is $100/month when i barely use any electricity because of some bullshit "minimum/base rate." if I run my window a/c unit every night, it only goes up to $110/month.

my electric company is a monopoly that burns co2 emitting fossil fuels in a "blue state" that supposedly "cares about climate change".

we are doomed.

Oh fuck I thought you were just telling us to imagine an 82yo grandma walking on an autumn morning

go up to 75

Wait did you mean 85

[–] rootsbreadandmakka@hexbear.net 2 points 3 weeks ago

Lol no, thank god. It’ll be better, but it still shouldn’t be this hot in late October/early november

[–] invo_rt@hexbear.net 9 points 3 weeks ago

Mood. We've got bugs and shit out in force here. I'm waiting for the trees to start pollinating or something.

I'm not gonna say where specifically I am, but it used to be raining and/or snowing this time of year when I was little. It hasn't rained at all since one or two days in September. Totally normal to have 70+ degree weather in October. I'm sure it's no cause for alarm.

My libs are celebrating the weather and saying climate change is the best thing that happened to the region. We used to be able to make maple syrup here. This is awful.
