Welcome to femcel memes. A place where anybody can post memes that fit the vibe.

Warning: We have a tendency to post things that may at times come from a self-deprecating perspective or things that are funny coming from another queer person. This space will always be a safe place for transfems, non-binary people, people with a feminine gender expression (GNC or otherwise) or anybody else in the LGBT Community to come together and share about our experiences but we truly feel that laughing about the sometimes silly and embarrassing parts the queer experience can help bring us together. We never mean offense or harm in anything posted but rather they are satirical takes coming from queer people.

A note about 'Egging': Our community is mostly made up of transfem individuals, and as such most memes posted will be posted with the intention of having a transfem perspective. However, regardless of gender identity, all feminine presenting individuals are welcome here. Whether that means you're NB, GNC, transmasc, or any other identity, you are welcome here. It is not our intention or goal to invalidate these identities. If something makes you uncomfortable, please feel free to report the post and I will address your concerns on an individual level. For more information regarding the problems with 'Egg-culture', please see Here.

Love Y'all and thank you for following this community

What no high speed rail does to a mfer

[–] PyroNeurosis@lemmy.blahaj.zone 26 points 1 month ago (1 children)

That's still almost 10hrs train ride one way. Assuming an express train from NYC to Portland.

[–] Smorty@lemmy.blahaj.zone 44 points 1 month ago (1 children)

That's a perfectly reasonable time for that distance.

While I wish Amtrak was more prevalent in the US, being able to take a train across the country is great!

Here's the rail map if you ever consider using it:

Interesting, SD(whatever that is) is the only state without rail. What are they doing there?

[–] Plum@lemmy.world 11 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Assuming they get on the train in Portland, OR and travel to Albany, NY, it'll take them 77 hours in slightly-more-legroom than normal seats.

Would legit be cheaper to fly.

[–] Rai@lemmy.dbzer0.com 7 points 1 month ago

And SO much faster hahaha

[–] thoughtfuldragon@lemmy.blahaj.zone 0 points 1 month ago (1 children)

It's not cheaper to fly. I've looked at similar trips for work a couple times now and the cheapest flights are always about $400 and you get a massive layover in chicago.

Maybe I just got a special offer because I'm not in Portland, but the price was comparable, if not cheaper.

Edit: The prices are even lower on the dates of the train ticket.

I don't live in America, so this doesn't apply to me, but hopefully someone else can get something out of this. (Live in Europe, Germany)

I heard Trans people can teleport, so why not teleport?

[–] Xtallll@lemmy.blahaj.zone 8 points 1 month ago

This is a common misconception, Trans people can't teleport...

...but some of us can double jump.

Google says my house in Portland to Philly is 1 day, 18 hours. But I'm pretty sure that's not counting rest stops.

[–] socialpankakemix@lemmy.blahaj.zone 20 points 1 month ago (1 children)

yeah google assumes you dont stop at all, so 42 straight hours, but im farther east than that lol

[–] misterdoctor@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

My wife and I were NYC to Seattle for three years in high school. It sucked so bad but we made it. Now I get to see her every day and the distance is just a dusty memory. We believe in you ❤️

My last drive from Washington to Mississippi was almost non-stop (3 drivers). Still took almost 3 days.

I've driven across the country about 5 times now. You ain't safely doing that in 3 days.

i drove from boston to portland in three days, i was driving between 12 and 16 hours a day, was it safe? hmmmmm, no comment....

Europeans often don't understand the scale of the US. The EU is a better comparison than any single European country. The Ukrainian front lines are as close to Paris as Los Angeles is to New York. You have to drive for hours to get across most states, even on the east coast. You can read 784 miles till your destination on GPS, and not even be traveling out of state.

[–] Couldbealeotard@lemmy.world 10 points 1 month ago (1 children)

In Australia, you can be driving for 3 days and still be in the same state

[–] TotallynotJessica@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

Australia has a similar geographic scale, but not in terms of population. It's similar to Canada in that respect, with most of it being nearly uninhabitable by humans. The US is far more hospitable by comparison.

and theres like nothing between most cities as well, vast stretches of empty land, where as in the eu cities are much closer and much more dense. in lots of parts of the usa interstate system you can travel for a hundred miles before you reach any civilization at all. and its probably just some gas station town thats only really there to be a rest stop/tourist trap.
