I don't understand bonus points? What is the purpose and why are they not ordinary points?
i once had a professor give out bonus points for going to his church open mic night and watching him perform
he also gave bonus points if you doodled on the back of your paper
(college class btw)

Bonus credit is just a flat bonus to your grade, they just bump up your grade.
A better request would be to give your points to the person with the highest failing grade.
This is actual human nature
The capitalist would simply steal someone else's bonus points to pass
