oh lemmy/blahaj are two separate things. a lemmy is a small mammal. a blajah is a small shark. both cute, easy to confuse

I'm pretty sure this person has not in fact seen people selling milk they get from EBT. Unless you get industrial amounts of milk from EBT, how would you even go about selling whatever amount you get?

I once encountered a gentleman who offered to buy my groceries with his EBT card in exchange for a smaller amount of cash. I declined since it didn't seem worth the hassle. It probably does happen but not in the "reselling groceries" way and not at scale.

lmao i thought it was just hexbear emoji that were huge on other instances. apparently it goes both ways

Brass left at ranges is swept up and used by somebody. Likely somebody who reloads for fun. Reloading is not cost effective unless you are shooting really expensive ammo. Must sort out the different case sizes and metals, and discard damaged cases. Then you need equipment (so space and money) and time. There are risks: if you mess up and add too much powder to a cartridge, you might blow up your gun (or yourself). The possible savings: ~15 of the 30 cents per round you spent on nice new 9mm.

Actual communists

It's history backwards: slaves were trafficked not just as "unskilled" labor, but because they knew how to do stuff.

I know it's not your main point but I think this is a bad argument against veganism. Yes it's hard not to eat flesh in a flesh-eating society. How else are we supposed to build a society that allows people to be vegan? Even under socialism, governments won't ban slaughterhouses or whatever without a movement asking them to. The presence of just a few resolute vegans allows other people the social space to do the same thing. One vegan goes hungry at the pizza party. If you have three, maybe you order falafel instead.

Blind tests specifically? Take, e.g., soda and diet soda, decant into identical containers with hidden labels, drink one, and log any effects before you check what it was. The brain is powerful. Some people experience real headaches because they think that WiFi or other RF gives them headaches. But they won't get a headache from radio waves they don't know about.

I don't intend this in a mean way. If you do find out that it's something else you could get relief from said migraines. Like the MSG folks who are probably just not drinking enough water when they go out to dinner, or are nervous about Asians or something. I once took placebo and a low dose of MDMA in a blind study and got them backwards. I was embarrassed for some reason but our brains really do construct much of what we perceive as raw sensory input.

I just know if I have more than 1 serving it gives me migraines

Might want to blind test this if you haven't already. See: MSG panic

yeah i've really enjoyed the trans perspectives shared here already
