Diamonds prices are falling. The horror, the dastardly Chinese...

Diamonds are ~~plunging in value~~ cheaper than ever around the world. Is China ~~to blame?~~ the hero?

Ok sweaty but it's not a real diamond unless it was made with cruelty

Ffs they did this same thing with caviar farming didn't they? I swear I remember articles complaining about how farming caviar is bad because it makes it more accessible to the wider public instead of being a special rich person food

Which is funny because caviar, like lobster, began as a shitty food for us poors until the rich gentrified it

Yeah, okay, good. Diamonds are a scam. Death to the diamond cartel.

I don't care who is to blame, I'm just glad the carbon garbage industry is dying.

Blame? Sounds like it might be a good thing?

It absolutely is a good thing, natural diamond industry is largely based on slave labor and it destroys the environment. There is absolutely no reason for it to exist when we can cheaply manufacture diamonds.

In 5 years:

"Sure diamond is so cheap to make that we can now use it as a building material, but at what cost?"
