I am playing Pokemon on a GBA emulator. I never played any Pokemon game before, it's fun!

Which one?
FireRed… I didn’t really know anything about Pokémon so I just went with the first English ROM I could find
Been playing through DMC 5 again. I wish they would have given Virgil his own proper expansion DLC, at least with some more cut scenes or something. He is fun to play though, like really really fun. I like the focus mechanic that builds a special meter when you don't sprint and precisely land your attacks. Really sells the power fantasy walking all ominously into combat and having it actually power you up.
- Metroid Dread, this might be my favorite metroidvania already
- Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney T&T
- Monster Hunter Wilds, this is just comfort food right now
Yet more Warframe. Gauss Prime and Nidus Prime done, Xaku building. Need to rep grind with a half-dozen factions. Kind of want Baruuk and Hildryn but one of the people I'm playing with can't do Orb fights because he hasn't maxed out Fortuna rep so that's probably on hold for now. Kinda want to grind out a few specific mods from some weird places (silver grove specters, mostly) that'll make my frames more survivable because Steel Path is a fucking nightmare.
Did a Duviri run yesterday in Sorrow and Kullervo didn't spawn, what a ripoff.
I've been playing Haste, which is this really cool rougelite runner game. The primary mechanic is altering your in-air angle to land perfectly on the downslope. It's also a very pretty game with a good soundtrack.
Is this just sonic adventure meets counter strike surf maps? Might try to nab this for steamdeck
Less technique required than CS surfing, I think (I've never played CS surf maps). There's a free demo that will explain better than I ever could.
some Warsim, some Aurora 4x, and a touch of the Xenoblade X remaster
was actually surprised how much i liked the remaster considering i beat the wii u one twice, figured i'd be burnt out on the beautiful but very flawed mech game
how is the remaster compared to the original? i have been wanting to play it for a while but haven't had the time. does the wiiu version sitll holds up or does the remaster made it obsolete? i prefer to play the original but if it's a way better version i could accept the new one
not got too far in for lack of time, but so far it's been mostly UI improvements and better graphics, but i have heard that there is some added content as you go further in
have not got to the part where the wii u gamepad used to come into play, but if that has a decent UI i would say it does make the original pretty much obsolete yeah
i guess for context i beat the original once on my actual wii u and once on cemu emulator and am now playing the remaster on ryujinx
Do you mean Warsim the Realm of Aslona ? If so. I REALLY need to get back at that game. The dev kept tinkering on that forever and it deserves more of my time.
yeah, i've only started playing recently but it's so good
Last time I have been playing it was like 2018 ? Devs been working on it for a loooong time. Warsim 10th Anniversary was in March.
Who has time for games? I spend my weekends adding to my totally normal and not embarrassing number of hours flight simming on VATSIM
Did you need to submit your ID? VATSIM seems cool but I refuse to give my ID to an orginization known for storing passwords in plaintext.
Nah, just complete the new member orientation course and pass the exam. I think the ID is only for people who are suspected of ban evasion type stuff. I would also never give over a scan of my ID to them lmao
And yeah, VATSIM is incredible and totally worth the effort it takes to get into
How do you recommend I practice for VATSIM so I don't make a fool of myself?
First I'd say don't worry about that too much. As long as you aren't trying to fly into one of the busier airports at peak times the controllers will be happy to help. You can pretty much always find smaller fields with only a couple scheduled flights at any given time.
Before I got on mic for the first time I spent a while listening to liveATC.net while following the airfield on https://globe.adsbexchange.com/. Really helps to hear the communication flow with the visual aid. I particularly liked doing that at KPVU as their airspace is pretty small so it's always easy to find who the tower is talking to, but it still gets a mix of VFR and IFR flights from small jets and even several A320s per day. Also a lot of student pilots out there which is nice because at the big international airports they all speak incredibly fast with a lot more mumbling, and then you get split towers for quadrants / runways and it all just gets harder to follow.
For me the hardest part was getting used to reading instructions back, so practice saying it out loud when you're listening to the stream. I like to keep a little notebook on my desk to write everything down in shorthand when the ATC is talking so I can just read it back without stressing too much.
I'm assuming you already know how to read charts, but if not that should be your first priority. I use navigraph, which is amazing, but there are free services out there too. Just make sure you have both departure and arrival charts all setup before pushback.
I might reply again if I think of anything else, but mostly just don't stress too much. I know I did before I got on for the first time, but everything was chill even as I was fucking up my readbacks and getting lost on the taxiway a few times. The controllers are all extremely patient and helpful in my experience.
Fate: The Cursed King, as recommended by the Low Spec Games copypasta.
Almost finished my chemically-enhanced (ie. weed) playthrough of Xenogears.
Still rogue trader, still a great game. Super cool.
It's a good one!
You enjoying the setting ? I have been a 40k fan since around the early 2000s. Love that the Setting has been seeing some VERY faithful and good adaptations.
Big disclaimer that I knew basically nothing about 40k prior to playing this beyond the surface level stuff you just sorta absorb by cultural osmosis.
However, the setting and writing is super cool so far. One interesting thing is that the obvious hypocrisy and fascism of the empire combined with the general “everything is turned to 11 at all times” of 40k does a really decent job of nipping a lot of potential lib writing in the bud. There’s simply no room for the “moral high road” libs love hand wringing over in most other cRPGs. There’s also some cathartic quality to the fact that the setting isn’t shy about the fact that the player as the Rogue Trader is directly responsible for untold amounts of innocent deaths and brutal oppression. The exploitative system is on full display, making your violently rebelling against it (inasmuch as you can) all the more satisfying.
I havent started yet, but I want to play Emperor of the Fading Suns: Enhanced.
It’s a space 4X game with a planetary layer and a focus on warfare and political machinations, set in a totally-not-Dune/40k-inspired universe. It’s an old game from the 1997, but now it can actually be played without slowdowns. It was very ambitious for its time. Now with stuff like Modding support and cleaner pixels etc.
Ive been playing rift of the necrodancer. Ive never been one for rhythm games outside of playin rockband with friends when I was a kid but holy shit this game is good. Its got a really good twist on the notes coming down the board in that theyre all lil enemies with varying mechanics. Bats that switch lanes after bein hit, harpies that move two tiles every other beat and a few others.
Having really simple mechanics changing up the rhythm game formula has just sucked me in
I just picked up Haste and oh my this game is so fucking incredible. Also God Zoe is so cute she's fucking goals man these people are 100% lesbians idc if they actually aren't in canon.
Started playing dark souls 3. Holding my attention better than dark souls 1 so far for whatever reason
Horizon: forbidden west. Just got to the "west" after the intro area. It's a fun open world game, they've made combat quite a bit better so far, we'll see if it last for the fifty plus hours it will take to finish.
I also finally started satisfactory, and got my factory to the space elevator and recently switched to coal power. I need to setup several more iron mines to really get production capable of building all things I need it seems. At some point I also need to switch to factory flors instead of just building on the ground, but I'll need to get some materials in order to figure that step out.
I've been playing Last of Us 2 on pc. It's pretty fun.
I don't know how I feel about the story yet, it's not told chronologically and I feel that it is to its own detriment.
You aren't really built up to caring for the characters and some of their developments fall flat. But I haven't finished it yet so idk.
Also the dialogue is uniquely "game-like" in some circumstances and it's jarring when it happens.
I will say though...gameplay wise. It is out-fucking-standing I mean some of the best I've ever encountered. Stealth bordering on metal gear levels of quality with quick and fluid combat to back it up. The AI outsmarts me, flanks, fakes me out, etc...
So far I've enjoyed the encounters the best and the rogue like mode second.
Maybe the story will grow on me. I'm not sure
X-Plane 12
Hall of Torment on PC and Star of Providence on Switch. Also, experimented with the OpenMW (Morrowind) project and the nostalgia hits a bit too hard. I do love it, though.
Torment? More Like Terrific! Games good
Games very good. Working towards all 500 achievements. Little over 400 so far. Don't do that with many games at all.
noita, still haven't made it very far even tho it feels like i've been playing forever. but it doesn't really get old or tiring, i appreciate how it feels like so many different genres of games i love combined into one cohesive thing
Xenoblade X. I'm 90 hours in and have only just finished the main campaign. I still have a chunk of side missions and affinity quests before the new content.
I'm rocking a squad of 4x level 60 skells and I'm nearly maxed in all 6 classes.
The game is so fun
I’ve been spending a lot of my free time playing different stuff recently. Tetris: The Grand Master 4 just came out after 20 years without an entry so I’ve been trying that out a bit. Unfortunately a little scuffed and barebones but still pretty fun, and I didn’t think this game was ever going to release at all so I’ll take what I can get. I’m taking another shot at Metroid: Zero Mission as well, and I’m about a third (I think) of the way through the Playstation version of Shin Megami Tensei. I’ve also been getting back into osu! recently and occasionally doing a run in Shiren the Wanderer 2.
factorio has once again captured me in its claws. i got factorio again to play the new stuff but i haven't still reached rocket tech. im using a lot of online blueprints so i can skip to the new stuff. im also playing without enemies because frankly they are disgusting and I always have a visceral reaction to them. it makes the game easier for sure but by not that much.
