I just asked them what number of votes for genocide would it take to be a deal breaker.

Voting for genocide will be the death of Palestinians

In Scandinavia, most people think social democrats are socialists and that not murdering homosexuals and immigrants is what makes the left wing left. I sometimes feel bad or petty for making fun of scandis lack of political understanding since they have no political education in school. This person probably thinks "immigration is necessary because someone needs to do the jobs white people don't want to" is leftist, and therefor they are a leftist.

Where are you from, and how is it different there?

I'm from Scandinavia, I'm speaking from experience.

directly supporting genocide twice is a good reason, yes

Opposing Genocide: An Infantile Disorder, apparently. Something something, adults in the room, hard decisions.

This sort of disassociation is kind of interesting in a way. This person is so far removed from any consequences that they can say something like this. To them "government" is just signing forms and "disagreement" is no doubt a sign of a "healthy democracy" therefore anyone who opposes her just voting on a silly little bill just hates American government and bureaucracy, when they should love it, because it gives us amazing things like "politicians voting unanimously to conduct a genocide, but over there, in the far away country, so we don't have to see it."

I'm surprised I haven't seen more people trying to defend her with "Arabs are sexist, if you support arabs(HAMAS!) you are sexist, therefore they just hate a #girlboss." I'm sure it's out there, I just haven't seen it.

I’m surprised I haven’t seen more people trying to defend her with “Arabs are sexist, if you support arabs(HAMAS!) you are sexist, therefore they just hate a #girlboss.” I’m sure it’s out there, I just haven’t seen it.

There was a thread recently in the awful "Leopards Ate My Face" .world comm that falsely claimed that the majority of Arab voters had voted for Trump and there were people in there talking about 2016 and saying that they voted against their own interests because these backwards brown people were just too sexist to vote for a woman. Despite the fact that a majority of Muslims voted for a woman president in both 2016 and 2024.

The thread was eventually removed, after I responded to like every comment saying it's misinformation and calling out some of the just mask off racism that libs do whenever they feel like they have a pass. But those sorts of takes are definitely out there.

voted the wrong way on an Israel funding bill twice

fool-me-once There's an old saying in Tennessee - I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee - that says, fool me once, shame on - shame on you. Fool me - you can't get fooled again.

This person is so lib that they publicly disagree with the party they claim to support. The red-greens are significantly to their left, and holds principled anti-nato and anti-eu stances, which this mfer doesn't manage despite not being accountable to voters, media or norms of the parliament.

[–] OldSoulHippie@hexbear.net 6 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Also, libs hated her six months ago. She was going to tank their election for having a principle. Not a very good one or anything because she rode the Biden raft right over the waterfall and never changed her position on Gaza..

Trump gets in and suddenly AOC for president! Hell, we'll take musk back!

[–] Keld@hexbear.net 5 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

I'm talking about Mio, the person making the tweet. Not AOC. Mio is a proclaimed Red-Greener, and stans Per Clausen, former Left-socialists (A party that split from the socialist people's party because they wanted to do marxism and didn't want the EU) who stopped being part of that party because it dissolved itself in 2013 to do entryism in the red-greens.

The red-greens were initially formed by the left socialists, a maoist party I don't think has an official English name, the Danish Communist Party (Marxist Leninist), and a Trotskyist party calling itself Socialist Worker's Politics (Not party, Politics. They're trots, they're weird), and half the leadership are still remnants of that merger. Mio is part of the new generation of Red-Greens, who are just fucking libs.

She voted for "present" instead of being "against" the iron dome funding bill. Like someone with her education should know better that the purpose of iron dome is to protect Israel from facing consequences/retaliation for bombing Palestinians.

https://ocasio-cortez.house.gov/media/press-releases/ocasio-cortez-castro-velazquez-doggett-jayapal-khanna-balint-casar-takano

some quotes from this article.

“Our votes against H.R. 8034 are votes against supplying more offensive weapons that could result in more killings of civilians in Rafah and elsewhere. We believe strongly in Israel’s right to self-defense and have joined colleagues previously in affirming our shared commitment.

“All of us support strengthening the Iron Dome and other defense systems and we are committed to a sovereign, safe, and secure future for Israel. To protect that future, we believe the United States must help achieve a ceasefire that allows hostages to be freed, humanitarian aid to be delivered, and peace talks to begin.

[–] Two_Hangmen@midwest.social 1 points 1 month ago

Except, she didn't. She voted "Nay", and no one voted present on H.R. 8034.

It's 1824 and replace the word genocide with slavery. Both candidates support slavery but one candidate is a "lesser evil" on other policies. So libs are saying slavery is a moral gray area, and it is okay to vote for slavery in some instances. Back to 2024 and genocide, libs tell us there is a moral argument to back a politician who supports genocide (actions not words). AOC is a monster who tries to justify support for genocide.

[–] invalidusernamelol@hexbear.net 2 points 1 month ago

Lincoln was praised for ending slavery, but he wanted a compromise until John Brown forced his hand.
