Part of this is about direct backlash, but there’s also the issue of rankings. If Trump appointments more judges that didn’t go to liberal Ivy League law schools and those judges selects clerks that didn’t go to liberal Ivy League law schools, Harvard could take a hit in the law school (and other departments) rankings. Last thing Harvard wants is their reputation as the pathway to elite jobs sullied.

Disgusting and cowardly. Like, it's already miserable of them to buckle to charges of facilitating crime (which I think they did relative to protestors), but there's not even an accusation of that level involved here, they're just bootlicking!
Also, it's just stupid to give conservatives that much more power when they're the ones bullying you in the first place.
It’s gonna take me a while up finish up that book, but it’s blowing my mind every chapter I get through. Seeing the echoes of these systems, structures, and attitudes reverberate through today is wild.
