And by "born" we mean white.

[–] Zink@programming.dev 12 points 9 hours ago

Wow, yeah “Kate” you are onto something. There is something fishy going on here. He is… (reads about him for 10 seconds) very black indeed. Of course.

Fucking people.

Signed, white guy with way too many relatives who would agree with smiling racist lady.

Look at me, I am the mayor now

[–] Zetta@mander.xyz 1 points 8 hours ago

Made my morning, good genuine laugh

[–] NikkiDimes@lemmy.world 25 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

I really don't like to poke fun at people's appearance. But also, yeah...

[–] Allemaniac@lemmy.world 6 points 15 hours ago

tbf Somalis have a very distinct look to them, kinda like India in some parts. I got some khazak friends who all look like Genkhis Khan, I shit you not lol There are certain regions where you can just spot that they are from there, and this mayoral candidate and the actor are both of somalian origin

[–] reddit_sux@lemmy.world 29 points 20 hours ago (4 children)

So she means the Native Americans.

[–] AeonFelis@lemmy.world 1 points 3 hours ago

Why not just deport them to India?

[–] Zachariah@lemmy.world 1 points 9 hours ago

sounds legit

[–] EndlessNightmare@reddthat.com 12 points 19 hours ago

"No, not like that!"

[–] tyler@programming.dev 2 points 15 hours ago

she's including naturalized citizens, so she already disagrees with trump lol. wonder if she realizes that.

[–] Sagan_Wept@lemmynsfw.com 33 points 20 hours ago (2 children)

He was born in Washington DC! He's more American than 99% of Americans

[–] NikkiDimes@lemmy.world 15 points 19 hours ago

And has 100% less representation!

[–] Burninator05@lemmy.world 9 points 17 hours ago

Washington DC isn't a state and you can't be been in the United STATES of America if you're not born in a state. - Kate (probably)

[–] Goldholz@lemmy.blahaj.zone 7 points 15 hours ago

That beared and hair! He knows his style for his headshape and i am so jellouse!

[–] NigelFrobisher@aussie.zone 42 points 22 hours ago (2 children)

Only whites are native born to the North American continent.

[–] buttnugget@lemmy.world 18 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

As far as I know, white people were the only people ever to see North America or set foot on it in all of human history. Everyone else is a guest!

[–] Typotyper@sh.itjust.works 6 points 21 hours ago

Only some whites

Rossy isn’t one of them

It is fun how shitty Hamilton was but now he has a hit play based loosely on him.

In 10 years with 2% CPI increase each year, minimum wage will be worth the exact same as today if you rose it by $4 tomorrow.

The past few years it's been between 3-6%

[–] MystikIncarnate@lemmy.ca 9 points 17 hours ago

See, that's the thing.

CPI increases have always persisted. So minimum wage has now become so worthless that it's impossible to survive on it.

IMO, we should tie minimum wage increases to the inflation rate.

Inflation goes up 2%, so does minimum wage.

[–] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 85 points 1 day ago

The MAGA movement is, at heart, a racist movement. So yeah. They're pretty racist.

He looks like an absolute badass

They really chose the worst photo to make him look bad.

Fateh's higher education bill included tuition-free public colleges and universities and tribal colleges for students from families whose income is less than $80,000 a year.[18] It also included an increase to Hunger Free Campus grants,[19]emergency assistance grants.[20]

Fateh was the chief Senate author of a bill to provide minimum wages and worker protections for drivers for rideshare companies such as Uberand Lyft.

Damn, he’s a good lookin dude in your picture, he looks insane in OP’s post!

[–] halcyoncmdr@lemmy.world 45 points 1 day ago (1 children)

OP's post image is probably a still image from a video of him ripping someone a new one in committee.

[–] TheLowestStone@lemmy.world 32 points 1 day ago

In the age of HD video, it is remarkably easy to catch a single frame of someone looking ridiculous.

[–] Zirconium@lemmy.world 26 points 1 day ago (1 children)

35 years old. I'm glad we're having such young people hit the spotlight in politics (I say this as a young person myself)

[–] Zink@programming.dev 1 points 9 hours ago

As somebody in between being a young and an old, holy shit yes!

We in the exclusive Oregon Trail Generation (born late 70s into early 80s, tail end of gen x into the oldest millennials) get to watch how much harder it has gotten for young people, driven by ancient politicians who had things the easiest of any generation throughout their lives, economically speaking.

[–] normalexit@lemmy.world 4 points 20 hours ago

He looks like a guitar pick in that photo.

[–] buttnugget@lemmy.world 4 points 21 hours ago

I feel like such a weirdo because I don’t see it. I think he looks totally fine in OP’s pic! Normal looking bloke to me lol

<Thinking...>

He is black he must be an immigrant

[–] RememberTheApollo_@lemmy.world 12 points 22 hours ago

Black with a non-white, muslim-sounding name.

[–] Wilco@lemmy.zip 54 points 1 day ago (4 children)

Give MAGAts credit, they have a natural talent for grabbing bad photos of people they dont like.

[–] Etterra@discuss.online 13 points 23 hours ago

Having a triangle head does not have an impact on his suitability for governance or his policies.

Look who loves democracy until it works.

Someone needs to push back against this and say, "We want this! We asked for it, by name!" Like your lame ass party and the other lame ass party don't fucking do shit so we started looking for people that will do shit. Guess what, we found them. Grow up and accept that if you do unpopular things, you will become unpopular.

[–] finitebanjo@lemmy.world 54 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (4 children)

Republicans generally have not liked democracy since the 60s.

Many of the recent Republican Presidential candidates did not win the popular vote even when they got into office. Many Republican drawn maps are rigged / gerrymandered such as Texas and before that North Carolina. Republicans were lighting ballot boxes on fire in 2020 and 2024. A few Republicans tried to remove Term Limits for Trump. The only reason the Republicans have a house and senate majority is because the house is capped at 435 and the senate gives 2 seats to every state regardless of the fact that North Dakota has 800k population, Wyoming 590k, and California almost 40 Million.

Sometimes Republican voters will literally poll that Democracy doesn't work.

Holy fuck. With a resume like that, he's got my vote....

I don't live there, but if I did....

[–] jacksilver@lemmy.world 51 points 1 day ago (3 children)

Politics aside, he looks like he wants to do experiments on anthropomorphic bandicoots.

[–] misterdoctor@lemmy.world 47 points 1 day ago

We need to leave racism in the past and move forward - together - as a nation that roasts people purely on how much they look like video game villains

Kate_p45? Definitely AI trash starting a fight to blind people with emotion and make them hate each other instead of being rightly mad at the oligarchs perpetuating the system.

[–] ech@lemmy.ca 4 points 21 hours ago

There wouldn't be a fight if there weren't people that agreed with it.

[–] 9point6@lemmy.world 31 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Imagine looking at that list of policies and thinking "not on my watch"

It would be very funny if they wrote a bill that limited citizenship to people born in "America"
