President Biden is trailing Donald J. Trump in five of the six most important battleground states one year before the 2024 election, suffering from enormous doubts about his age and deep dissatisfaction over his handling of the economy and a host of other issues, new polls by The New York Times and Siena College have found.

The results show Mr. Biden losing to Mr. Trump, his likeliest Republican rival, by margins of three to 10 percentage points among registered voters in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada and Pennsylvania. Mr. Biden is ahead only in Wisconsin, by two percentage points, the poll found.

There's an insane amount of cope in the MSM that genocide Joe isn't going to eat shit in the general. He's actively alienating demographics that typically vote Dem but probably won't be nearly as inclined to vote after four years of "Nothing will fundamentally change, but come on Jack give me another term" biden-troll

[-] frauddogg@lemmygrad.ml 31 points 10 months ago

Yeeeeah I can't wait for the libshits to come around panhandling for votes, 'cause I'mma take ALL THE SATISFACTION EVER in telling these crackers I don't support genocidal colonizers; and Biden's been acting like he came STRAIGHT out of the Antebellum, 'let's fuck up Reconstruction and ethnically cleanse the people who don't wanna be slaves' days.

[-] ZombieTheZombieCat@lemm.ee 2 points 10 months ago

You're right. Trump will do a much better job.

Are you joking, or are you genuinely peckerwooding at me right now

[-] BeamBrain@hexbear.net 24 points 10 months ago
[-] frauddogg@lemmygrad.ml 22 points 10 months ago

Yeah, that's why I asked. lemm.ee is like, right behind lemmy.world and sh.itjust.works for malignant liberal peckerwoodery; so I automatically don't trust the /s tag

[-] BeamBrain@hexbear.net 19 points 10 months ago

Oh yeah, I know. I was putting in my vote for them being a lib.

[-] PM_ME_YOUR_FOUCAULTS@hexbear.net 26 points 10 months ago

That smuglord shit is not going to save Genocide Joe this time

[-] VILenin@hexbear.net 24 points 10 months ago

The most effective way to garner votes is to condescend to your prospective base

[-] iridaniotter@hexbear.net 21 points 10 months ago

Not voting for Biden is de facto a vote for Claudia De la Cruz

[-] batsforpeace@hexbear.net 22 points 10 months ago

but but.. Joe's doing the good-guy work of petitioning Israel to drop smaller bombs, and Kamala is great too ! yep yep things are looking up

[-] JohnBrownsBussy2@hexbear.net 43 points 10 months ago

I honestly thought that Biden would scrape out a win prior to the escalations in Palestine, but yeah he's a goner. This, plus the continued economic doldrums plus the resumption of student debt payments plus the clear failure of the war in Ukraine means that he is sunk.

[-] zed_proclaimer@hexbear.net 20 points 10 months ago

Then Trump will get in and further escalate Palestine, further continue economic stagnation, keep student debts and continue the war in Ukraine. So great to have choice in this beautiful nation.

[-] PM_ME_YOUR_FOUCAULTS@hexbear.net 18 points 10 months ago

Then Buttigieg 2028! Things are looking up

[-] MattsAlt@hexbear.net 10 points 10 months ago

Hey by then AOC may have cozied up to enough lobbyists that we could have a chance at first openly gay president vs first woman president in the primary

Calling it now, dems will try to cope by attempting to smugly tell Trump "we let you win. We felt sorry for you."

[-] duderium@hexbear.net 7 points 10 months ago

But we just need to get Mayor Pete in there to explain everything since he’s so well spoken and then everything will be fine. /s

[-] ikiru@lemmy.ml 6 points 10 months ago

Yeah, I doubted Biden would beat Trump again but thought maybe there was a possibility. But, now, there's just no fucking way. Bibi just bombed their run for a second term like Biden was a hospital of refugees.

Even Zelensky is seeing the writing on the wall by inviting Trump while Biden is still in office. Ice fucking cold.

[-] stigsbandit34z@hexbear.net 42 points 10 months ago

The US election should just be between five states to save the rest of us time and better reflect reality

[-] Sephitard9001@hexbear.net 34 points 10 months ago

It's really only fair that we choose our democrat candidates based on what the 5 least populous states want months before the election.

Why?

Shut the FUCK up!!

[-] stigsbandit34z@hexbear.net 25 points 10 months ago

Wow it sounds like the communist has a problem with American democracy, imagine my shock🙄

[-] Sephitard9001@hexbear.net 15 points 10 months ago

I'm surprised we don't have an emoji of Paul Joseph Watson's bright red lips

[-] iridaniotter@hexbear.net 38 points 10 months ago

SMH the NYT isn't properly following their style guide. The headline should say "Biden Reportedly Harmed by Rhetorical Blast, Times/Siena Poll Suggests"

[-] save_vs_death@hexbear.net 23 points 10 months ago

initial reports from the RNC suggest the blast came from Biden's own failed improvised rhetorical device

[-] frauddogg@lemmygrad.ml 20 points 10 months ago

why tf does "improvised rhetorical device" sound like a phrase that'd get barred up into a battle rap verse

[-] iridaniotter@hexbear.net 14 points 10 months ago

This is really good. Better than mine!

[-] mkultrawide@hexbear.net 32 points 10 months ago

Black voters — long a bulwark for Democrats and for Mr. Biden — are now registering 22 percent support in these states for Mr. Trump, a level unseen in presidential politics for a Republican in modern times.

Remember when he really tried looking Charlamagne the God in the face and said "If you don't know whether you're for me or not, then you ain't Black"? 'Cause I remember that shit every day; and I'm about ready to trade in my melanin for pure, 93 octane high-unleaded SPITE.

maybe-later-kiddo: "You see, the thing is that we don't need to actually appeal to minorities. What are they going to do? Vote Republican?"

Yes they will

[-] mkultrawide@hexbear.net 23 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

Democrats are about to find out about wealthy black Americans and the West African diaspora.

[-] GarfieldYaoi@hexbear.net 12 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

I can see it now, these types with the same shit-eating grin on their face after their party becomes completely irrelevant at the federal level.

I know better than to expect anything different, but democrats will learn nothing from this and be perfectly content for the GOP to feed them their next periodic table scrap of relevancy to make sure the dems get blamed and not the GOP.

[-] AlpineSteakHouse@hexbear.net 18 points 10 months ago

I can't wait to drink vodka like a fucking fish again during Trump like I did in his first term.

Having a constant reason to drink is a great consolation prize.

They don't call it "water of life" for nothin'

[-] Llituro@hexbear.net 14 points 10 months ago

if biden is ahead in wisconsin it is only because the state republican party is particularly devastatingly corrupt.

[-] GarfieldYaoi@hexbear.net 13 points 10 months ago

Damn, I wonder if four years of sitting on your ass is part of the reason why.

Enjoy your brunch while you can, libs.

I keep mentally pronouncing "Joever" as "Jo-ever" and I've experienced a lot of momentary confusion as a result.
