Man it really is always the people you most expect.

I've never liked this guy. When he started YouTube, his channel was filled with extravagant nonsense. Like for example, dumping food in the pool, or some weird stuff like that, and that really rubbed me off in a wrong way as someone from a low-income family. And then the philanthropist bullshit, like come on, you're not fooling anyone with that. Maybe kids, and privileged adults, but not us.

Yea my entire perception of him has always been he's a drifter I just didn't understand what his angle was yet.

Then he started branding burger kings as pop up restaurants or something.

THOSE BURGERS ARE SLOPPY AND DISGUSTING!!

Good so far. This is useful as a lot of my students are into Mr. Beast.

Fuck. The trans person on his show, who transitioned visibly over the years, is into Loli porn. While bad enough by itself, it’s going to be milked so god damn much by reactionaries.

Just loli porn? She was also grooming minors, sharing porn, hentai and talking explicit stuff. She was 19, they were barely 14.

aaaaaaaaa

agony-soviet

Fuck.

My impression isn't that it was grooming so much as it was pervy immature banter online. Idk, I'm unplugged from poop culture stuff, but I've never had a good feeling about Mr beast.

So what is this at the beginning about Kris Tyson?

[-] velox_vulnus@lemmy.ml 25 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

Texting minors and having a loli artist (Shadman, I think) as her friends, but that was before she transitioned. MrBeast is no different - he made comments about Bhad Bhabie when she was 14 and he was 19, about "putting his dick" in her. Now that podcast video was deleted, but you can find a reupload somewhere.

How is every disgraced youtuber friends with shadman?

[-] velox_vulnus@lemmy.ml 10 points 1 month ago

Is this like the YouTube equivalent of Epstein's circle?

[-] SSJMarx@lemm.ee 6 points 1 month ago

Shad was really big for a moment, I think it was kind of the last gasp of the "shock culture" that the internet used to have before it got paved over (Mr Beast transitioning from being that kind of guy to being a corporatized product perfectly encapsulates the change).

Kinda weird but I was in Ava’s discord channel like 10 years ago and accidentally found a reddit post of hers where she described her super abusive boss who used to be her friend (mrbeast). I knew it was her because she posted a pic of her dog on it. I hoped for mrbeasts downfall ever since but didn’t expect her to play such a role in it.

Was that account u/tysonboy34? It had some really creepy-as-fuck messages.

No idea, I don’t remember the username but I didn’t see anything creepy on the account back then.

Looks like its already shadow-banned. Not surprising, YouTube is getting better about being on top of criticism of their largest channels.

Edit: Never mind seems like it's working on 'most recent', disregard my comment.

[-] velox_vulnus@lemmy.ml 7 points 1 month ago

It is still shadow-banned. Couldn't find it on search. I've downloaded, just in case, and I'll probably upload this on archive.org.

Tried looking it up by name in the app after reading some comments about it. It might just be YouTube's crap search algorithm though, I haven't tried 'most recent'.

Edit: Pops up on 'most recent', I gotta stop reading YouTube comments.

Dude always gave me this vibe of being created in a lab and his video scripts being AI generated. Absolute brain dead slop.

[-] SSJMarx@lemm.ee 6 points 1 month ago

The most chilling part is that he did it to himself. Years of chasing content and he turned himself into a human ChatGPT model that just outputs whatever gets clicks on YouTube.

Add to that that he's self aware of it, it makes him miserable, and he can't stop.

Breadtube if it didn't suck.

Post videos you genuinely enjoy and want to share, duh. Celebrate the diversity of interests shared by chapochatters by posting a deep dive into Venetian kelp farming, I dunno. Also media criticism, bite-sized versions of left-wing theory, all the stuff you expected. But I am curious about that kelp farming thing now that you mentioned it.

Low effort / spam videos might be removed, especially weeb content.

There is a cytube that you can paste videos into and watch with whoever happens to be around. It's open submission unless there's something important to commandeer it with at the time.

A weekly watch party happens every Saturday (Sunday down under), with video nominations Saturday-Monday, voting Monday-Thursday. See the pin for whatever stage it's currently in.
