This whole couch thing never ceases to produce new pieces of art:

It loses a lot of its effectiveness since we’re already talking about the couch. It is better just posted in some random place, so that “COUCH” can burst into the scene unexpected, as was intended.

Is this the fabled Gen Alpha humor I have heard so much about?

[–] swab148@startrek.website 11 points 3 months ago

...a faction of the internet believing Vance actually had sectional relations...

Look ma, I'm part of a faction!

[–] Ensign_Crab@lemmy.world 61 points 3 months ago (2 children)

You mean to tell me that Republicans are upset about a false story about someone they like?

Tell me more about Obama's birth certificate.

[–] Serinus@lemmy.world 19 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Is it false though? I don't think you can prove that.

[–] ayyy@sh.itjust.works 7 points 3 months ago

Release the long-form LaZBoy receipt!

[–] Angry_Autist@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Or the amusing assertion that Michelle was a guy.

People actually spent time photoshopping and uploading crotch bulges on the First Lady. Wild...

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago (1 children)

They STILL go on about this. Just saw some chud that's an associate (not a friend) of the family talking about "Michael". I swear most of them have a thing for trans and that's what the obsession really boils down to...

[–] Angry_Autist@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago

I wonder how much hate over the last 100 years has been from closeted conservatives turned self-hating from a lifetime of strict moral browbeating from their peers, parents, and pastors.

[–] itsgroundhogdayagain@lemmy.ml 44 points 3 months ago (2 children)

Facts have never been a problem for Republicans so J.D. Vance is a couch fucker regardless of what any fact checking says.

[–] MagicShel@programming.dev 11 points 3 months ago

Folks could show up to rallies with a couch cushion bungee corded to their crotch just like the ear bandage thing.

[–] Angry_Autist@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago

Now I'm not saying JD is a couchfucker, it's just really concerning that he HASN'T come forward to prove to us that he has fucked no couches.

[–] Ioughttamow@kbin.run 35 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Let’s not spread the rumor that JD Vance raped and killed a couch in 1990

[–] BreadstickNinja@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago

And then tried to pin the murder on the Zodiac Killer, Ted Cruz.

[–] alilbee@lemmy.world 32 points 3 months ago

sectional relations

Phenomenal

[–] dohpaz42@lemmy.world 29 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Print photos of different couches and mail them to any or all of these locations:

https://www.vance.senate.gov/office-locations/

Don’t forget to add little love notes. e.g., “Thinking of you 💋”

[–] Tolookah@discuss.tchncs.de 8 points 3 months ago

Makes me wish Lovesac sent out mailers instead of infinite emails.

[–] Nougat@fedia.io 28 points 3 months ago

I mean, I'm not aware that JD Vance has denied having sex with a couch.

[–] doggle@lemmy.dbzer0.com 23 points 3 months ago (1 children)

So a guy on twitter made up a story about Vance admitting to fucking a couch in Hillbilly Elegy, which is verifiably false.

AP posts an article which says as much, but it's titled 'No, JDVance did not have sex with a couch', which is a slightly different claim. Since they can't affirmatively prove that Vance hasn't ever fucked a couch, they took the article down.

And people took that and ran with it.

[–] Cethin@lemmy.zip 7 points 3 months ago

It's funny and he can't prove otherwise. I'm OK with it. It's a stupid bullshit meme that doesn't mean anything, but that's fine.

[–] AlligatorBlizzard@sh.itjust.works 21 points 3 months ago

We're still in the worst timeline, but at least it's occasionally hilarious.

[–] citrusface@lemmy.world 18 points 3 months ago

Couch fucker.

[–] Bluefalcon@discuss.tchncs.de 9 points 3 months ago

I heard he fucked it raw, no glove. Probably gave it Syphilis.

[–] BlueEther@no.lastname.nz 9 points 3 months ago (2 children)

This meme with Donald Trump’s VP candidate has gotten out of hand.

Well if a couch was involved then it would be out of hand. I'll believe* him when he comes out publicly with a statement saying that he have never had sex with a couch.

  • as much as I would believe what any republican has said over the last 8 years
[–] ThePowerOfGeek@lemmy.world 10 points 3 months ago

He would never go sofar as to publicly refute such an allegation. That might make his base question his sectionality, or up holster and figuratively shoot up his burgeoning political career.

[–] Passerby6497@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Man, how long until the gloves cum off?

[–] Brickhead92@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago

I think it depends on the couch. Some couches you'd want to leave the glove on, safety first.

[–] thorbot@lemmy.world 9 points 3 months ago

JD Vance most definitely did not fuck a couch.

The couch fucked HIM

[–] mriormro@lemmy.world 9 points 3 months ago (3 children)

This is all just fucking stupid.

[–] matthewmercury@reddthat.com 23 points 3 months ago

It’s pretty great judo. The hard right spews neverending bullshit as a weapon to erode the concept of truth and it’s ineffective to try to debunk or fact-check that noise. Ridicule lands well against fascism though.

[–] Bluefalcon@discuss.tchncs.de 7 points 3 months ago

I would say being blatantly racist is stupid. This is just funny.

[–] thorbot@lemmy.world 5 points 3 months ago

It’s pretty fucking funny if you ask me

[–] ATDA@lemmy.world 8 points 3 months ago

So listen I know this is disproven like Biden sniffing children but jd Vance fucks couches because I still have to explain the Biden rumor is false all the time.

Jd Vance. He fucks couches. Literally. He does it. Dead ass.

[–] robocall@lemmy.world 8 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I recently saw a meme of JD Vance and a couch.

[–] EmpathicVagrant@lemmy.world 5 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

He likes the big black couch the most.

There’s always a camera, and they’re so nice to him there.

[–] simplejack@lemmy.world 7 points 3 months ago (1 children)

!fuckablesofas@lemmy.world

[–] AlligatorBlizzard@sh.itjust.works 4 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I'm disappointed nobody has made this yet.

[–] AbidanYre@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago

Where's John Oliver when you need him.

[–] Gnugit@aussie.zone 4 points 3 months ago

Why they ruin all the fun?

[–] taiyang@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago

I got a glance at Reddit and it was like 70% of the political memes and unlike here, the fact checkers were buried in the comments.

Didn't get me wrong, I love the meme and will continue to use it but I don't want people to get the idea it's not satire. We don't want a new Birds Aren't Real type situation where a meme gets out of hand!

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 1 points 3 months ago

One of the funniest segments I've ever seen was John Oliver's most recent show when he talks about this and then slams into a "now this" segment about furniture. Hilarious.
