This sort of stuff felt like reaching until I witnessed it myself.
For those who don’t know: X is like a swastica, and it’s the 88th ascii character, H is the 8th letter, 88 -> HH -> “hail Hitler”.
Yes. I do feel like Adam West’s Batman.

Lemmy is telling people to flee the US? What did I miss?
I’d imagine most of Alberta is left leaning like the rest of the country and similarly has their left votes split over multiple parties, making it a lot easier for conservatives to win. Same problem we all have really. It just takes a really small nudge of conservatism to tip the scales
Is that what’s up?
My mum always said that and I never understood it until now
I’m trying to show how it could be useful for you.
If you consider the risk vs reward of having a passport, it seems like a clear calculation to me. It sounds like we agree then. It’s an extra tool you can have, not the ultimate escape plan. As I say, I believe I am mentioning it for your benefit.
It’s a little relevant to the context, but doesn’t really move the discussion forward- I admit.
I found some sources for you, here’s one:
“The chances of fleeing now were slim. Germany had conquered most of western Europe and its ally Italy was invading France in the south. One of the few escape routes left was the long, eastward one, through the Soviet Union by train. Transportation was costly and official hurdles endless. Travelers needed passports or substitute papers stamped with several kinds of permissions: one for exiting the Soviet Union and others for countries of transit and of final destination. What country would accept Jewish refugees?”

I want you to be well prepared, friend 😊
I’m willing to admit that I don’t know a lot about anarchism. I’ve tried to learn more when I have the opportunity to talk to someone about it, but I never get anything insightful.
I’d love to know more about how an anarchist society could work.
Fair enough - I stand corrected
Ehh yeah that’s a whole other can of worms. By “reviews”, for me, I mean a bunch of different sources.
And I do that because you’re correct! Trust in those is low.
So “reviews” maybe isn’t the right word. Just tryna keep the comment simple.
Thanks it’s interesting history, and a good question to ask an anarchist.
I’d be really surprised if you get an actual answer though. I asked him in another thread what his idea of justice is and all he said was “well it’s not locking people in cages”. So useful. What a platform..
Ultimately I know that no matter who comes out on top here, it ain’t gunna be anarchists (pretty much by definition)
My personal explanation is that it is a power saving measure. I got the idea from a fan made Star Trek game called super Star Trek. One could move around with shield up all the time but you’d use up tons of energy
My other theory is that it has something to do with the deflector shields.
