When Hussam Abu Salameh received permission from the Israeli military to access the olive grove that has been in his family for generations, he decided to wait.

His land, located east of Jenin in the north of the occupied West Bank, is next to the separation wall, where he had previously been shot at by Israeli soldiers.

Not long after, a military truck reappeared and soldiers started shooting at Palestinians in their groves, despite the local council’s prior coordination with the Israeli army to allow farmers to pick olives near the wall that surrounds Faqqua from three sides.

“I took off my hat and started waving it to ask them to stop, but they continued firing live ammunition at us,” says Hussam. He took the olives his family had gathered to his tractor and was preparing to leave when he heard his wife calling out that she had been injured.

“We ran out to her and found that a bullet hit her in the chest. We carried her to my son’s car and called an ambulance,” says Hussam.

I'm looking for titles that will run well on my only computer. Which is a 5-year-old 13" convertible laptop attached to a docking station with a 24" 1920x1080 screen. It's got Intel internal graphics.

For reference, Skyrim runs well on it at 1920x1080 and high settings.

What would you recommend? Mostly interested in open world RPGs.

Specs:
Intel Core i5-10210 (4 cores, 8 threads, 4.2GHz)
8GB LPDDR3 (2133 MHz) RAM
Intel UHD Graphics w/ HDCP support. DirectX 12, OpenGL 4.5
shared memory

In the book, you argue that elites introduced mass education as a way to control and discipline lower-class children. How was this done, and why was it seen as necessary?

Mass education was really crafted as a clever system to instill obedience to the state and its laws. Schools used rewards and punishments to enforce rules, moral education dominated the curriculum and even basic reading and writing exercises taught compliance, like when students were asked to spell words like "duty" and "order."

School routines—following schedules, marching in lines, asking permission—all reinforced discipline. The entire system, from teacher training to school inspections, aimed to create citizens who wouldn't question authority or disrupt the status quo.

Governments saw schools as essential to maintaining internal security, viewing primary education less as a means to reduce poverty or promote industrialization than as a way to prevent social disorder.

back in the ubuntu days I used radiotray, but it seems not to be maintained anymore.

my next question is: is https://github.com/ebruck/radiotray-ng/releases/tag/v0.2.9 being maintained? it was last updated nov 10, but the page doesn't list the year.

I've also found some flatpak radio packages. Should I disregard radiotray and try any flatpak radio application?

What I liked of radiotray is that it was minimalist, simply click on it, choose a radio station and that was it, I didn't need to open a whole suite just to listen to radio online. Adding station was also very easy, just pasting a url.
