196 is cringe af imo, it was kind of refreshing to have it on reddit when it first became a thing bcs compared to the rest of reddit it was pretty good. in some ways its better than when it was first made (posting shota porn is now banned because of a struggle session they had about in which people posting shota arc were claiming it was a suppression of queer sexuality or whatever to criticise them for posting it stalin-gun-1 and its slightly less chaserish than when it started - though this mysteriously got worse after a certain "leftist" twitch streamer recommended it multiple times) on the other hand in a lot of ways its got a lot worse (purging "tankies", ushering in r/NCD posters, posts and comments critical of funny-clown-hammer were deleted by the mods for a while, also ) and then there's like the constant problem of its way too horny and that attracts the absolute worst people.

ngl for all its flaws the lemmy.blahaj.zone is probably better than the subreddit (i just checked out to get a gauge on what it was like rn and there was someone defending doing racist charicatures of chinese people as one of the top posts)
