Us Minnesotans are hecka proud of our Hot Dish, some of us go as far as Cold Hot Dish. If you're from outside Minnesota I'm talking about casserole and pasta salad. And pasta salad is not the midwest mayo-layered trifle thingy.

Additionally, as a Minnesotan, I know of people who think ketchup is a "hot sauce". These are the scary ones.

I can enjoy the heck out of a good casserole, with the chemical-y tasting chicken cream soup in a can.

But ketchup spicy? Not even in the whitest of eu-cool I've seen than as a valid opinion.

Is this what Soundgarden meant with ”looking California and feeling Minnesota”?

California is cool. All of the cool in all of Minnesota came specifically and exclusively from Prince, and now that it's dead the cool is decaying in to stable un-cool particles.
