So, I played other games as a kid, like Super Mario World, but I think Settlers 2 was what really made me appreciate strategy games, even back then, as a wee little lad. Later came other games such as Morrowind, StarCraft: Brood War, and Warcraft 3. They basically sealed the deal, and I became a "gamer."

this is the future communists want: an economy where 80% of jobs are standing in the middle of a road, occasionally carrying an object from one golf flag to another.

if you want to get a loaf of bread, it's gonna arrive a few months after you ordered it, and you better believe that bread has passed through fifty different hands between the baker, the warehouse and you. and that's not even considering the grain, flour and water production lines

i had a port of this on my nintendo DS when i was young and played through the campaign up until a bugged map which i couldn't beat :(
