"Bernie's supporters have been very, very damaging to him, and it's really frustrating to see and experience. They don't realize how influential they are. It's frustrating to feel like they are hurting him," Ocasio-Cortez said in the midst of the 2020 primary, according to the book. "I feel like Warren is scooping up LGBT, progressives, women, and progressives of color because of how they isolate."

She also worried that the behavior of Sanders's supporters were "forcing an unnecessary choice between class analysis and race analysis" through their "behavior, not so much policy."

Ocasio-Cortez made those comments as she mulled whether to endorse Sanders's 2020 campaign, even though she had worked as an organizer on his 2016 campaign.

insane that this is literally a thing that journalists decided to believe about the people sending them PIGPOOPBALLS on twitter and the most gullible "progressive" in politics heard about it and decided it's true and relevant

I used to have an insta video of them hugging that I saved on my phone in 2019. I was so high on that shit.

The left should take a leaf out of the right's book, tbh, AOC is correct about that. The way that the right had that campaign to stamp out toxicity and mysogyny was really impressive stuff.

(Not that these things should be excused on the left just because the right does them, mind—I'm just bored of holier-than-thou-definitionally-right-leaning-libs preaching about progress while being not just part of the problem but the problem and also being complicit in trying to genocide Palestine.)

To say they should or should not be excused is to concede the premise that they exist as more than an MSNBC hit piece narrative in the first place.

The reality is that it was, as always is, projection from the right. The toxicity they were describing existed. They were Khive.

They don't realize how influential they are

"Ben Mora from Seeking Derangements pocdast is one of the most influential people alive, instead of being toxic by cyberbullying liberal reactionaries such as Pete Buttigieg or Mitski, he should be leading us to the ballot box"

The year is 2024 and Democrats are still whining about some rando with a podcast calling them fake.

Sanders's supporters were "forcing an unnecessary choice between class analysis and race analysis" through their "behavior, not so much policy."

The Antifada just had an author come on to talk about their article and they also pointed at BLM activists that totally forego a class analysis for race analysis and similarly did dumb shit. It's something in the water man, baby-brain dogshit liberalism in everyone's drinking supply.

But according to reporting in Ryan Grim's "The Squad: AOC and the Hope of a Political Revolution," the New York congresswoman thought the idea had a lot of merit — and that it was hurting Sanders' prospects.

I'm definitely not defending AOC, but I'd like to point out that this quote came from some shitty liberal journalist, and was later quote mined from fucking Business Insider.
