In recent years, we've seen it with Russia, China, Palestine, and now Yemen. I wonder when we'll see the racism resurface from otherwise "liberal" people in the future

Lebanon is 100% up next as a continuation of the Isntreal rampage chain - libs are suddenly going to unearth their decades of knowledge on Hezbollah and how they turn babies into Manoush or some shit

Probably a Latam country, Brazil maybe? They're the "B" in "BRICS", or South Africa maybe since they wont shut up about the genocide in Palestine.

They're already doing the South Africa thing, didn't John Fetterman basically say he thinks there's a white genocide happening there?

Piece of shit libs I swear

critical support for white genocide

[–] roux@hexbear.net 10 points 9 months ago

If it's against colonizers, is it really a genocide tho?

Brazil, although I had already seen a lot of racist takes that completely failed to account for historical conditions in how Protestant (more specifically Evangelical) groups that are largely petit bourgeois formed the base for support for Bolsonaro, not broad support from the uneducated masses the way a lot of white liberals characterized it, I expect the racism to ramp up with Lula, especially as Brazil couples with fellow BRICS countries more tightly. A lot more accusations of unspecific "corruption" with little evidence beyond the fabricated claims from previous scandals.

there's always been a weird amount of racism about Brazil, I remember redditors foaming at the mouth about the "apocalympics" and then the only weird thing that happened was some diving pools got a strange color while being cleaned or something

Resurface

It never goes away nor hides, just switches focus

Well, definitely Iran. But given the rejection of defacto colonialism in the Sahel then throw some African nations in there.

With the Belt and Road gaining traction any number of central and west Asian counties.

Don’t forget about central and South America…

And, finally, if Ukraine settles for a peace deal, which seems inevitable, then they’re next.

We're their money laundry, it won't be us. Unless you think the incumbent soc dems Sinn Féin are going to fundamentally change anything? They won't.

That's an unusual choice, why?

If Operation Gladio 2.0 screws up, they'll go down the drain with Ukraine...

🇱🇦 at some point the US is bound to remember that Laos exists and decide they need more bombs

I predict border security will become an even bigger issue, and the last vestiges of liberal concern for asylum seekers will be purged. "Round em up and kick em out" will become the explicit message of both parties. Potential NYT opinion piece headline: "Actually, Some Human Beings Are Illegal."
