I think you could describe Connor O'Malley's stuff as having a sort of Midwestern Gothic bent. What I didn't know until tonight is that one day when we were about 11 years old, he was over at our house and I played my dad's Abbey Road cassette, and he was totally floored! Before that, he'd only heard pre-65 Beatles, and he had no idea how much their sound changed. So he was talking about what a big impact that moment had on him and all the music he discovered after that. It was a really cool memory to share with my cousin!
