I had mine with an orange and my usual carrot, but that’s just an example.

A second PBJ

[–] Plum@lemmy.world 17 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I like putting half a cut-up banana in mine, then eating the other banana half for dessert.

Not if you make a really good PB&J

[–] Lost_My_Mind@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I use extra crunchy peanut butter. And make it a little volcano shape on one piece of bread. Then in the hollowed out middle I put a pitt of strawberry jelly.

Then take one more spoonfull and lightly glaze the rest of the peanut butter in a layer of jelly.

If you make the pitt too big, it squirts on your chest.

I understand now. It’s so good u can’t share.

Milk, celery sticks and a box of California raisins.

[–] tal@lemmy.today 4 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (1 children)

If you've got peanut butter, celery sticks, and raisins, which are all present in the above scenario, then I'd probably do bugs on a log:

[–] Kolanaki@yiffit.net 2 points 2 months ago (2 children)

But where do you put the jelly?

[–] ArcaneSlime@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 2 months ago (1 children)

It's there, it's just really dry jelly.

[–] Poots@mander.xyz 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I have no idea what I mean but your reply made me realize I really want raisin jam to be a thing…

[–] Mac@mander.xyz 1 points 2 months ago

(The raisins are the jelly hence being "really dry")

[–] tal@lemmy.today 1 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

Oh, I'm just saying use the peanut butter on both. Jelly and bread can still go on the sandwich. I've got no objection to PB&J sandwiches...just that these guys work well with 'em.

[–] cobysev@lemmy.world 9 points 2 months ago

I usually eat it on its own. Maybe a glass of milk to wash it down. Maybe some chips if I'm really hungry.

For me, a PB&J is usually a snack if I'm feeling hungry between meals, so I usually eat light if I'm having one.

Granny Smith Apple Slices

Get some crisp and sour into that formula

I'm a simple chips enjoyer (or crisps if you're a Britbong). Something salty to balance the sweet jelly. I usually eat crunchy peanut butter, so it's already a little savory.

That's when you make PB&J with uncrustables.

Cheez-Its always sounded like a curse word to me. Like you drop a wrench on your toe, and you yell "AW CHEEZ-ITS!!!"

[–] Boozilla@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago

Bender says it when he wants the gang to run. Well, he says "Cheese it!" which is close enough.

[–] blackbrook@mander.xyz 2 points 2 months ago

I hear that in Butter's voice.

[–] bear@lemmynsfw.com 4 points 2 months ago

Milk and banana.

[–] Omgboom@lemmy.zip 4 points 2 months ago

A bowl of chili

[–] Boris_NotTooBadinoff@lemmy.world 4 points 2 months ago

Lightly toast one side of each slice of bread for the outside of the sandwich (or the inside depending your preference).

Place a slice (shaved from a block) of cold cheddar cheese in between the PB and J. You can vary the thickness of the cheese slice depending on the texture you'd prefer.

Cut into triangles

Enjoy!

2qty toasted pb&j sammies, a bowl of apple sauce & a can of orange soda. If lunch was a last meal that'd be my last meal lunch menu. You eat 1 Sammy, then apple sauce, then drink half of can, then eat 2nd Sammy and top off the orange soda.

[–] MycelialMass@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago

A nice Cuke, its heaven in a can.

Pb&j burritos are far superior to sandwiches, you can get more filling and less “breads”. I typically eat mine with a small handful of chips (harvest cheddar, or the red bag of sun chips may be my favorite with pb&j) or some sort and some dill pickles.

[–] Marighost@lemm.ee 4 points 2 months ago (1 children)

For me, the bread is part of the experience of the PB&J. You have piqued my interest, though. How do you prepare this PB&J burrito?

[–] nokturne213@sopuli.xyz 2 points 2 months ago

Heat a flour tortilla so it is soft and pliable. Add peanut butter, then add jelly (you may want to stir the jelly in a bowl so it is not lumpy, if you mix it on the tortilla it can mix the pb with the j and some do not like that, it does not bother me personally). Fold over the left and right sides slightly, and then roll it up, and enjoy!

A big glass of water and maybe a big pretzel with cheese sauce.

[–] Num10ck@lemmy.world 0 points 2 months ago

slices of salami add texture and flavor.
