This is a fix. No way the hit was this well planned and executed but then he didn't dispose of the weapon and ID.

[–] Strayce@lemmy.sdf.org 44 points 1 week ago (2 children)

[–] Enjoyer_of_Games@hexbear.net 62 points 1 week ago

Palestinian youth brushing up on their favorite lines from the Arabic translation of Mein Kampf.

If he’s mentally ill he might’ve just fixated on his plan for the ceo without thinking about how to live life on the run afterwards. Although carrying around his manifesto suggests he expected to be caught. It is a bit weird.

Unless it was on purpose for some reason? Hard to say. I wanted to see the video he allegedly posted, but it got pulled before I could download a copy.

[–] xiaohongshu@hexbear.net 17 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Probably saw how much of a sensation he had become and decided to relish in it.

[–] DamarcusArt@lemmygrad.ml 35 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Of all the explanations for "why he made such huge blunders now despite being competent before" I think this is the most likely. He saw the media circus, saw his 5 minutes of fame and tried to cash in, not realising that this makes him look like a dipshit instead of a hero.

Personally I think this guy is probably a patsy or scapegoat the NYPD picked up to make it look like they're doing something after this made them a laughing stock. It'll probably be revealed in 6-12 months when this finally goes to trial that there is 0 evidence this guy did it and the cops actually had no leads at all.

I posted this before learning he is some alt right weirdo so I dunno maybe he did want to get caught to make some bizarre point or is just terminally incapable of considering owning 1 (one) less gun to save his own life like most usamericans are.

[–] hotcouchguy@hexbear.net 11 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Maybe it was his favorite tho

[–] AOCapitulator@hexbear.net 12 points 1 week ago

but if it was on purpose WHY DO IT THIS WAY!

Could have done the whole thing on facebook live if he wanted to get caught anyway

[–] BountifulEggnog@hexbear.net 10 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (2 children)

Did the video get posted? I saw someone here say it was set to go live in 2 days.

edit: I found the timer video, its not interesting but here it is if that's what you were looking for.

[–] godlessworm@hexbear.net 10 points 1 week ago (2 children)

it's pretty interesting. "if you see this i'm already under arrest" "all is scheduled, bye for now" "soon". i wonder what he has scheduled. i assume it's an info dump or something, wonder what it could be

What's his hours in League of Legends though

[–] edge@hexbear.net 17 points 1 week ago (3 children)

Shortly after it went up, however, the channel and its associated videos—a second "part 2" video was set to go live at 6:45 pm ET—were deleted.

They really wanna suppress his manifesto, huh?

I hope he had other plans to get it out there.
