Statement to the United Nations Security Council on the Situation in Iran by IAEA Director General, Rafael Mariano Grossi.

The level of radioactivity outside the Natanz site has remained unchanged and at normal levels indicating no external radiological impact to the population or the environment from this event.

However, due to the impacts, there is radiological and chemical contamination inside the facilities in Natanz. The type of radiation present inside the facility, primarily alpha particles, is manageable with appropriate radiation protection measures.

At present, the Iranian authorities are informing us of attacks on the other facilities, the Fordow Fuel Enrichment Plant; and Esfahan site,

All these developments are deeply concerning. I have repeatedly stated that nuclear facilities must never be attacked, regardless of the context or circumstances, as it could harm both people and the environment. Such attacks have serious implications for nuclear safety, security and safeguards, as well as regional and international peace and security.

“any armed attack on and threat against nuclear facilities devoted to peaceful purposes constitutes a violation of the principles of the United Nations Charter, international law and the Statute of the Agency”.

this is totally not my typical type of game. i'm not a shooter guy, but this is so addictive. there are probably 40 different types of vehicles. massive slow walkers, hover tanks, flying crafts, and small vehicles mini mechs. like probably a dozen of each with their own stats for movement, turning, visibility, strength, etc. they each have 2 weapon slots, and there are probably 50 different types of weapons, plus special abilities. so you can seriously bespoke your guy to fit your play strategy. are you a little run and gun creep ninja? do you want to long bomb mortars and then flee the scene when the patroling units come to investigate? or do you like to appear massive on the horizon, move slow and straight toward your objective and obliterate everything that does not run from your judgement?

also, the environment is top notch. it's all destructable. the world is grim vision of the future where capitalism has gripped the galaxy, so you see corporate mega farms, lonely highways, core district suburban mcmansion neighborhoods, decayed industrial worlds, neon cities of endless distraction, massive slums, spaceports, extractive utilicorridors. lots of detail. and your vehicle's weapons can fire right through some wretched mansion to obliterate the units behind it, chewing it to bits. you can also crash through just about anything. or make noise and get a bunch of units to chase you through a gas station or other explosive depot and then shoot it up after you're outside of the blast radius.

the music is really strong too... heavy, driving synthwave beats really take you there and get stuck in your head.

the story campaign of the build world is interesting and ultimately the game is about being a mercenary pilot during a politically unstable time, doing missions for whoever is paying and making phat stacks to buy more vehicles, buying weapons / testing configurations, and accessing more of the in-game lore.

i find myself trying different missions (tons to chose from) and making money, then i get rolled a few times and quit. only to come back like 30 minutes later because i thought of an idea for a vehicle/loadout combo.

anyway, for under $10, it's a no brainer. and yes, i do feel bad when innocent civilians get chewed up as collateral damage, but my pay isn't docked. basically, all carnage increases the pay, so there are some twisted incentives baked in. it's like john carpenter's mech warrior.

Did you ever daydream that you're a wizard? Or maybe an astronaut, or a superhero, or a secret agent? Perhaps when you snapped back to reality, you were left with an internal grin and a feeling of "heh, that would have been cool. Oh, well." Let's assume in your fantasy you were an astronaut, because although they exist, you probably aren't one.

Possibly you've had that dream, or one along the same lines, several times. Maybe more, now you come to think of it, and they started... hmm, as long as you can remember? Nothing strange about that, all kids daydream about that kind of thing. Astronauts are rare, but they've been around since before you were born, and occasionally show up in films and on TV. But when they do, they're the object of ridicule: the other characters treat the astronaut as some kind of freak, and joke about them. I don't get it, you think: being an astronaut sounds pretty cool. But your friends and family don't bat an eye at these films. You take note: astronauts aren't cool, and you'd better not let on about that daydream.

Life goes on, you grow up, and most of the time when you drift away from whatever conversation you're not listening to, you're thinking about being up there in orbit, or walking on the moon. In your spacesuit. Yeah, that would be nice. Once or twice you may read about or see a documentary on actual astronauts, and while you pretend not to be interested, every word etches itself into your memory. Just some more trivia to add to your general knowledge, you tell yourself.

You'd never deliberately seek it out, but coming across information about astronauts is always a happy acccident, and you're glad to fill in any gaps in your knowledge. You know the training schedule pretty much by heart. In all the interviews, the message is the same: "I always knew I wanted to be an astronaut; I told my parents about it almost as soon as I could speak." Strangely, you feel almost jealous.

Perhaps you have some posters of the moon up in your room. Or maybe a discreet NASA logo on your shirt. Or played an astronaut in an RPG. It doesn't mean anything; you're just so secure in your identity as "not an astronaut" that you can do it without feeling ashamed. In fact, it's almost... exciting?

One day you come across a post by someone about your age, who gave up their career as an accountant to join the space program. Turns out they didn't know all along, and just figured it out one day. That sticks in your throat a bit: some folk have all the luck. Wait, what?

You can't shake the feeling that there's something missing from your life. Something big. It's not like you're depressed, or anything, but everything just seems so... gray. Pointless. You don't hate yourself, but you wouldn't be too bothered if it all just ended one day.

And then, at last, you figure it out.

CUPW, which represents about 55,000 mail workers, has pushed back on the idea of a membership vote on the latest offer. The union accused the employer of being "not serious about meaningful arbitration" in a bulletin sent to members Tuesday.

Is a vote a bad thing?

There are a couple of governance systems in the world. Parliamentary democracy, direct democracy, anarcho syndicalism, etc.

With its decentralized nature, mostly free movement between communities and instances, which governance system would be closest?
