The more I learn about actual history, the more I realize that History ™️ is a lot like relying on cops body cameras to learn what happened:
"repression by Syngman Rhee?"
Camera was switched off
"Jeju Uprising?"
Camera was blocked by my uniform
"When the South invaded the North?"
Camera was malfunctioning
"When the North continued south to liberate it?"
When they violently invaded without provocation? I guess it was just a loose connection 'cause we got great footage of that!
Looked that one up, and once again the forces established to fight them used a skull on their logo.
Real AreWeTheBaddies energy no matter if it's Ukraine or SKorea.
Listen to Blowback
I'm trying, man. It's just too depressing to listen to more than an episode a week.
big mood
Brace and Liz have had them on, do they talk about the skulls? What episode should I start with?
Season 3 is about the Korean War.
Seasons 1 and 2 are about the Iraq War and the Cuban Revolution and Season 4 is about Afghanistan.
I listened to the first 2 eps and now took a break for a while, any tips on how I can get a quick refresher on what I've heard so far? I've forgotten who everyone is already
It might be worth listening at 1.5x speed. Idk if there are any posted summaries anywhere
I would support the North liberating the South even on the simple basis of the US colonial takeover of the latter. That said, did the South really invade first?
I drink your milkshake! I drink it up!
Was this consistently southerners in the north and not the reverse?
Skirmishes. Lots of them. I think you'd enjoy the Korean War section of blowback. Or if that's not your slice of cake, they have a source material page so you can read the books yourself.
