The French Revolution and it's immediate aftermath is critical to understanding the cultural and political climate that produced Marxism. Avoiding it is doing yourself a disservice.

I meant more the Napoleonic wars and it's specifics. I know the important shit, I just don't care about the Master and Commander stuff, aside from that movie which rules. That's more what I meant.
