it cant be CSAM if its drawn, this is a very important distinction for victim advocacy groups. unless there was a real child being abused its not CSAM hence the name. heres an explainer on what CSAM is from the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network the largest anti sexual violence org in America. https://www.rainn.org/news/what-child-sexual-abuse-material-csam this may seem pedantic but its actually very important because people keep trying to report drawn stuff to these orgs and it slows down helping actual victims. also listening to victims orgs is just generally good to do.
edit. thank you for the change ssj2marx!
"It's not CSAM" and "It's not something that can be investigated" are two very different concepts.
the whole point of the term is to help victims. thats the entire point. its important for the victims we use the correct language. the term was invented by victim advocacy groups, you can just respect that. come up with you own words if you want I dont care. imagine working hard to try to create language for victims and then seeing people use the terms incorrectly. like by spreading the incorrect term around YOU are hurting REAL victims. this shit matters. it is very important to have specific terms for these things. keep dunking on vaush, please do. but just use the correct terms thats all im asking. for the sake of actual children. its also an important legal distinction. another potential term for CSAM was "crime scene photography" that is what that word means. literally evidence of a crime.
I'm glad someone finally said this, I was getting irritated seeing people using the term incorrectly.
It defeats the whole purpose. It should be obvious just considering what the acronym stands for.
