The media also glazes up their naivete as a virtue. The system does work, it just takes time. Our institutions are good, trust them. Those bad things that people are doing in our country isn't a reflection of the country, we are better than that. In many ways there is no distinction between the belief in American Exceptionalism from a democrat or a republican.

The reason liberalism is such a threat to the left is because it wraps itself in a facade of humanitarian concern. They are concerned for the immigrant, the Palestinian, the trans-youth, and so on. Of course we can't stop any of the bad things happening to them and in most cases will quietly work to make them worse. But they care. They think about it. Sometimes they even go to events and cry over these issues. They pay their suffering tax like indulgences for their sins. Then they use the receipts for that in order to hamstring the left.

Anyways, never give them an inch. Never concede they care more, are less racist, homophobic, transphobic, genocidal, you name it. They aren't. You aren't opposing genocide if you vote for people who enable it. You aren't opposing transphobia if you are voting for people who do nothing about it. The list goes on. Always hit back harder. Accuse. Blame. They will offer you no quarter and will circle the moment they smell blood.
