The obsession with sexuality is really weird Heterosexuals aren't expected to define their exact preferences So why should bisexuals have to why can't they simply fuck whoever they want without being analysed
Sometimes I feel like the only reason I have a "word" for my sexual orientation to begin with is the fact that people are obsessed with classifying it. I could go "unlabeled," but I guess that'll get people wondering who could be a potential partner for me (plot twist: I don't care about gender at all. I'm pan.)
Why hello there Pan nice to meet you!
Oil me up, buttercup!
Duh, gotta get you seasoned.
That's good for you I hope you find someone that can fulfill you emotionally and sexually
Oh, I already found that person! Guess who it is?
Che guevara
Who?
Honestly this is why I just say everyone that isn't extremely straight is queer. Definitely controversial but if queer means "not straight" then everyone who isn't straight is queer. And most folks agree queer is just "not straight." I dunno what the fuck I am but I ain't straight so I'm queer. It's enough for me and for lots of folks I know. It's much clearer this way I think
I think this is objective fact
I dunno I've had plenty of folks (usually who identify as gay or lesbian) say they aren't queer, they're gay or lesbian. I think it's just that crowd of old guard exclusionary gays usually.
To be more charitable there are also lgbt people of older generations who may've had "queer" used as a slur against them, which is important to consider imo.
But I generally tend to view "queer" as an umbrella for all legbutt stuff, so
For sure. When an older gay tells me they aren't queer I'm not a dick about it, I'm happy to accept any label they want. I just think that normalizing a broader umbrella usage of queer is important long term.
Exactly i would argue most people are a bit queer and that's fine
there are also plenty of people who are straight and queer though
How would that work?
Trans people lmao
Apparently my tone here is unintentionally offensive so I'm just gonna remove it, sorry.
Queer often means "Anyone who isn't both heterosexual AND cisgender." Some people throw in "allosexual" in the mix too because some cishet aces would call themselves queer, which is valid too because identity is ultimately personal and up to one's preferred interpretation. Speaking of that, you say that you don't look at queerness and gender identity as necessarily related, but some queer people do, and that is to be respected even if you wouldn't use such terminology for yourself in the context of gender identity.
Oh for sure. I'm definitely not trying to take anyone's identity from them or invalidate them, so sorry if it comes across that way. I think dialogues about gender and sexuality are super interesting. I would definitely agree that ace is queer too, I know lots of ace queers and drift in and out of ace myself at times.
The only time you're not ace is when you have quiet moments alone with beanis

comrade...
Every person must be categorized as precisely as possible so they can be properly judged by class, race, gender, sexuality, disability, ideology, religion, fashion, etc. Otherwise how would I know how much visible disgust to show when looking at them?
