as an American who has worked inside the US food system for closing on 2 decades, I would never recommend importing any food or ingredients from this completely fucked joint. the default should always been to suspect it as contaminated and substandard, so unless you are developing some highly specific relational sales and distribution channel with an individual person you can trust for a specific thing, find it or an alternative somewhere the fuck else.

a handful of countries buy a lot of commodities from the US because our environmental and agricultural production/processing labor regulations range from lax to non existent. throw in some of the subsidy structures, and it makes some of these commodities cheap and abundant compared to their regional analogs.

but a supply chain that will fuck over the very environment, communities and specific people it directly depends on will absolutely fuck over its buyers/customers downstream.

buyer beware.

Please explain more comrade-birdie

It’s so funny to me when people try to seriously mimic Trump’s affectations and speaking style as though it’s anything other than the product of a dying brain clinging desperately to life. It’d be like if Democrat talking heads started performatively falling down stairs or pretending they’d forgotten where they were.

[–] Rom@hexbear.net 30 points 1 week ago

The Democrats don't even need to pretend, they're just as geriatric.

They see us tankies do it and are mad they didn't come up with it first. a-little-trolling

It's like historical fads where some inbred King had shitty teeth so they dyed them black to hide the cavities, and all of a sudden everyone starts dying their teeth an ugly black color to look more like the king. It's just tooth decay/dementia dog, you don't have to copy it, and now everyone looks like a fucking freak.

What do you mean you don't want bird flu and chlorine in your chicken?

Europe doesn't want American slop because the US' rate of food poisoning is obscenely higher than it is in Europe. 14.6% of USians get food poisoning per year while in the UK it's 1.4% and in the rest of Europe it's comparable.

Keep that shit as far away from me as possible please and thank you.

wtf I had no idea the discrepancy was so high, lmao

[–] Awoo@hexbear.net 16 points 1 week ago

It's a really illuminating statistic. Some of it is education, which is better here too, but a lot is regulations.

Jesus, who's bringing the numbers so far up? I should have had food poisoning, well, a lot more than the one time I've had it. Is there a group of people who leave egg salad on the counter overnight despite multiple bad reactions to that?

Or wait, do all those pukey days as a kid count even if they were never officially diagnosed?

They use models for estimates that include those yes. The CDC does it in the US, whereas the UK uses something called the FDEM model. They're comparable though.

Thats because ya belly SAWFT. Americans temper their intestinal fortitude through trials by combat

[–] SmunchBucket@hexbear.net 6 points 1 week ago

My coworker got food poisoning at work the other day. Was puking everywhere, spat out his dentures, covered in sweat. Wild stuff.

I want the food to kill me. Drown me in the slop.

beautiful

One of Trump's favorite ridiculous descriptors. I'm sure that's not a coincidence.

"I know words. I have the best words" tromp

Won't you sample some of our bird flu chicken? Joe Rogan says it's best raw along with his good pal, Dr. Peterson!

[–] LaughingLion@hexbear.net 15 points 1 week ago

[–] vegeta1@hexbear.net 12 points 1 week ago

Tariffs aside, you have a great unclean one of nurgle as head of healthcare trying to spread his gifts everywhere and this doge thing trying their best to deregulate what they can.

25 years ago there was a big problem with livestock in Europe. Maybe :lets-say-youre-a-guy: hasn't moved past that.
