Oliver, Stewart and Minhaj only have shows because they pacify the "potential left". All these shows talk about societal issues in the US but the solution is always to vote for dems harder. They also toe the state department line whenever they talk about America's enemies.
For once I would love for Olivers show to end with:
"Alright so what can't we do about it? Well for starters we can get into more direct action, cutting utilities in the dead of night, destroying keep points of the military industrial pipeline, then we need a cell network of activists engaging directly with workers...."
I don't consume lib stuff anymore, but the fact that the people I listen to are politically more developed and insightful than Oliver and Stewart doesn't make me exempt at all. This applies to the stuff I consume too, and I know exactly the feeling this person is talking about. I consume politics, but I'm part of a working class that's so fragmented I don't even know where to begin doing politics.
I wish I had somebody cool like Zohran to work with, but there's pretty much nothing cool going on where I live. Actually, there probably is, but I'm so alienated from local politics that I have no clue where to start.

That can be a starting point. Does your city need traingang/bikegang energy? A lot of city councilors (zoning commission etc...) are less qualified for the job than anyone who browser this site.
Getting involved with lib/electoral stuff can make you immediately useful to your community, and give you the opportunity to meet people like you who are or want to be doing the "cool stuff".

After watching the video, I'm pissed but also it looks like he just wants a chance to win and I hope he's just lying to not get eaten by the wolves. It felt like it was straight out of a skit. Two candidates wearing yellow ribbons, with the other wearing a comically large one to outdo the other.
