During a Sept. 7 interview with UW-La Crosse student newspaper The Racquet Press, Gow told the publication he was looking forward to supporting his wife, Carmen Wilson, as “she creates a cookbook and instructional videos titled 'Cooking with Carmen.'”

The couple has posted nine videos on their Youtube channel Sexy Healthy Couple — described as “a plant-powered couple [making] delicious vegan food with top adult stars,” per a channel description — with the first posted on Dec. 9, 2023, as first reported by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. The videos feature Gow and Wilson making recipes alongside adult film entertainers and small segments of suggestive material.

The channel’s Twitter account advertises “fully explicit scenes” on their OnlyFans account.

In one video, Gow shows a book entitled “Monogamy with Benefits: How Porn Enriches Our Relationship,” which he says he wrote with Wilson. The book is listed under pen names Geri and Jay Hart, which are described on Amazon as “pen names of a married woman and man who serve in executive positions at two well-known organizations in the U.S.”

That's it. That is literally what they fired him over.

And they were previously mad at him for being the one university admin in the country for whom "campus free speech" doesn't just mean inviting the most rancid right wing freak available to come do some hate speech:

One of the actors Gow and his wife filmed a video with, Nina Hartley, was involved in a 2018 controversy when Gow invited Hartley to the university, he told the Cardinal in the September interview, to speak about sex education and sex positivity as a reflection of a newly-passed UW System policy on free expression.

Free speech unless you do something on your own time and with your own resources

Controversy over sex ed & sex positivity... hmmmmmm...

[–] SacredExcrement@hexbear.net 11 points 10 months ago

Well yeah, they're in the Midwestern US

Mid westerners are still living in the 50s I see

And you can’t even do “it’s the politicians not the people” stuff because the Bible Belt is probably one of the worst places to exist in the US

This is like the most wholesome shit. how could they fire him over that? America is a bunch of Puritan Nazis. xi-plz

the resentment people have towards sex workers is unreal. I bet these freaks who fired him watch porn and probably way less ethical porn at that

anyway here's their vegan cooking channel on youtube, maybe they got some good recipes. and I'll admit that I'm a fan of a few of their guests lol

I bet their channel was discovered by someone on the board while they were browsing porn, and that's how this whole thing started to begin with.

[–] Nakoichi@hexbear.net 16 points 10 months ago

Hey! Wait a minute! I recognize that cock!

[–] infuziSporg@hexbear.net 12 points 10 months ago

Their Youtube channel has been up for only 2 weeks, but they've been at this for a while.

It's boggling how only when they produce totally unprovocative, SFW content on a broader platform, they catch a reaction.

What really enrages me is the hypocritical porn addicts dropping all sorts of dumb quips in the comments.

Death to America as usual

[–] AlicePraxis@hexbear.net 9 points 10 months ago

yeah they're just projecting their self-hatred onto porn stars so they have someone to blame for their loneliness, it's pathetic

I can't imagine having such disdain for the people I jerk off to. their job is to make people feel good ya losers

Libs be talk all about voluntary porn but when somebody does it they are dishing social death upon them.

In an interview after announcing his intention to retire as chancellor, Gow mentioned his desire to return to the classroom and spend more time cooking with his wife.

Sorry for party rocking

Well, hopefully they'll be helped by the droves of people like me who subscribed to their YouTube after reading this. This is how I get my husband into veganism! party-sicko

(btw - if you also have trouble finding them, the article has the channel name and the video series both slightly wrong - the channel is Sexy Happy Couple, the video series is Sexy Healthy Cooking.)

This is how I get my husband into veganism!

lmao

Autistic person requesting clarification - why is this funny?

[–] Nakoichi@hexbear.net 7 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago) (1 children)

Because it's a common boomer/my generation trope of "Oh there's a hot chick in this thing maybe this will make my husband interested in it finally!"

It's funny because it's not the way that trope usually is played out.

[–] the_itsb@hexbear.net 4 points 10 months ago

Oh okay, thank you for filling me in! I didn't know that was a trope, or that it usually doesn't work for other people. I hope explaining it to me didn't ruin the humor for you!

[–] Hohsia@hexbear.net 24 points 10 months ago

Puritanism is a plague like no other

[–] Dolores@hexbear.net 17 points 10 months ago (1 children)

the premise seems fun but they need some work, the husband and performers just milling about is very awkward. put em to work, only put them in frame when they're saying something.

also the cameras are operated by porn people but maybe not the same ones each time, and it's very off for a cooking format. you can tell they're more comfortable shooting the porn-esq cut-ins (that allude to actual porn scenes(??)). but they generally just have strange framing and slow-paced editing. it's a probably a tall order to expect some completely different styles in the same end product, but they ought to try.

and the eating! crammed at the end and so little. surely a porn photographer can have a field day with glamor-shots of food and people eating it.

but yeah if they don't quit & refine it, i could see it becoming pretty neat, fuck the puritans!

[–] Rom@hexbear.net 12 points 10 months ago

Yeah most shows kinda suck at the very beginning before they've figured things out. I think they'll improve once they've had some time to work at it.

Still, uncritical support to the vegan porno chefs. I hope the dismissal from the university backfires and they become more successful than they would have otherwise 07

[–] Frogmanfromlake@hexbear.net 6 points 10 months ago

Looked up the dude and all I can say is he's a good looking guy for his age. The Youtube channel is okay too but it's the sort of thing you listen to while cleaning.

[–] odmroz@hexbear.net 2 points 10 months ago

Not my type, but he is kind of a fox.
