You should be tipping anyone who does a good job whether or not you think it "serves" you. I was at a public urinal earlier and tipped the guy next to me for having a great pee. $5 might not mean much to you but it adds up over a day for them.

We should all tip your landlord for providing one of our own with a home. Sometimes I just go to random homes and tip the owners for being part of the community.

edit: or just whoever is out front. I don't know if they live here or not

Sometimes I tip the squirrels for being cute with expired bread.

I was driving past a kid the other day and tipped them just for being brave enough to take money from a stranger. That's a big step in a young entrepreneur's life!

Tipping as a form of mutual aid

That's what I was trying to explain at the urinal but the pee champ ran away as soon as I tucked $5 in his shirt pocket and said "Damn big guy, you earned it". It could have been a community building moment but people are too caught up in their own lives.

Unironically yes.

If you are in a position of comfort economically hook us up.

Tip your cashier, tip everyone. One struggle.

Great example of this is Amazon delivery drivers. I assume other cities in the west have those Amazon vans going around now delivering stuff instead of relying on local mail services. In my experience these guys are the absolute best delivery people in terms of their customer service. If they try to deliver something when I'm at work and can't get into my building they will almost always phone me and if I ask if they can come back in a few hours when I'm home they almost always do. I'm just assuming they get paid less than UPS, FedEx, ect delivery people, yet the service they offer me is vastly superior. I always try to throw them some dollars if I can.

I've tried to break into the local warehouse a few times just to tip the workers there too.
