Not really the worst thing that Obungler’s done, but slow-jamming his pitch for the TPP on Jimmy Fallon gives me bone-deep cringe

Probably his 180 on banking and bankers, and policy in general tbh.

I remember Matt Christman talking about it in a vlog, how that betrayal and his general betrayal of American workers helped pave the way to the tea party reaction

It's not the worst thing in sheer killing or war crimes, but he made no-oil 's education "reforms" WORSE and actually amplified the harm they did.

As an educator, I will curse Arne Duncan's name forever. guts-rage

my hot take is the one good thing obama did was prove that black men can be shit presidents, too

[-] HumanBehaviorByBjork@hexbear.net 29 points 1 year ago

his presidency really did put the nails in the coffin of liberal progressivism for me. before it was possible to believe that the inequality and bigotry ingrained in the American social order could be rectified with bourgeois democracy and representative identity politics. a black "community organizer" telling us out of one side of his mouth that he'd roll back the excesses of the christian nationalist that came before him and then just maintaining them while giving us nothing was too obscene to ignore.

When he gave the ok to the saudis to start a war in Yemen.

Then the Syrian war.

Lybia.

Rember he greatly scaled the international sanctions program.

stabbed jeremiah wright in the back. not the worst thing, but the moment when he was most explicit about who he really was.

[-] Tachanka@hexbear.net 19 points 1 year ago

he did jeremiah wright jeremiah wrong :kelly:

[-] BelieveRevolt@hexbear.net 13 points 1 year ago

objection Wright was right about 9/11 and that was too spicy at the time.

Since it hasn't been mentioned yet, and although it's not the worst thing he did, remember that time he called up NBA players during the height of BLM and convinced them not to strike in solidarity? The largest protest movement in US history? The USA, a sports treat nation in danger of losing a treat? A huge protest while the opposition party was in power and he helped to de-fang it?

Amazing how for every single thing posted in that thread, even the LIB ones, there's someone defending it as a good thing.

I'm so ashamed i spent so many years on that site and never even knew how atrocious and absolutely misinformed the vast majority of people were

it almost seems like it's conversations among bots that can only lie and tell half truths
